The potential reasons the long-serving F1 team principal was dismissedEnglish6·2 days agoSky is basically saying they don’t know the reasons why it happened – but what seems to have happened is that the “Austrian” side of the business ‐ sports CEO Oliver Mintzlaff and part-owner Mark Mateschitz – have managed to convinced majority-owner Yoovidhya to drop support for Horner.

So he’ll be on their payroll for a while longer but not involved anymore.
Microw@piefed.zipto Funny: Home of the Haha@lemmy.world•Seems like the most reasonable explanationEnglish115·3 days agoThere has been evidence against him since the early 2000s that he abused girls and young women. He wiggled his way out of a case in 2008, but he knew it was over this time. It is absolutely thinkable that he killed himself in order to not have to actually go to prison.
Microw@piefed.zipto Funny: Home of the Haha@lemmy.world•Seems like the most reasonable explanationEnglish1851·3 days agoUmm… she was convicted of sex trafficking of a minor to Epstein.
All public statements by victims made during trials identify Epstein as their abuser. Some identify Maxwell as an abuser, some identify others (like Trump or Andrew) as abusers.
But the evidence against Epstein abusing underage and of-age girls was clear, and the evidence against Maxwell trafficking for that purpose was as well. That is why Maxwell is in prison.
People thinking that those two would not have abused girls if not for rich clients, are stupid.
Evidence that these victims were abused by other people or “clients who paid” is what the feds repeatedly deny to exist. Even though MAGA claimed these lists exist. I don’t know if they exist or not, but they are not the reason why Maxwell is in prison or why Epstein died.

Can’t really think of a reason why the owners/board would specifically fire marketing/communications people.
Microw@piefed.zipto Formula 1@lemmy.world•Christian Horner: Red Bull F1 team principal sacked after 20 years in charge of Milton Keynes outfitEnglish31·3 days agoYou wouldn’t fire a team principal effective immediately without giving a reason IMO. Maybe this is Red Bull operating differently from your regular F1 team and it’s really just because performance and Max. But to me it sounds like something bigger – either related to the allegations or Horner did something that lost him the owners trust.

The thing that these kinds of comments always insinuate is “either Epstein pimped all these girls and young women to powerful clients who are on a client list, or otherwise no abuse happened at all!”
