Eh. I prefer the PineTime watch. It was like 25€+shipping and customs and it does everything I need, is fully open-source – it displays weather info, time, date, heart rate (although not very well), and has timer, stopper, etc.
You’re not crazy. AI is an useful tool I use daily for quickly summarizing things and for writing code that would otherwise be tedious as hell. I also use it for tips on certain issues in code for learning.
DeepSeek cost so little because they were able to use the billions that OpenAI and others spent and fed that into their training. DeepSeek would not exist (or would be a lot more primitive) if it weren’t for OpenAI.

1·11 months agoYou didn’t read the article did you? The article states that actual prices that people paid have fallen by 22% compared to a decade earlier and only the richest families pay the full sticker price.
No and that’s not my point. Fox news is slanted just as much as CNN. I mainly only get my news from Reuters and APnews (not including tech news). I recommend you to look at resources like Media Bias Factcheck or an app called Ground News.

9·1 year agoPeertube in it’s current form is not a replacement for anyone other than tech nerds and it’s not gonna change unless some real changes are made to how the platform fundamentally operates.
- The federation is currently opt in so the videos you see are largely dependant on which instance you choose. They made this choice because of the obvious problem – storage cost.
- You’re stuck hopping between instances because the content is really fragmented.
- I don’t think that there are currently ways to stream other instances’ content if the content is not mirrored onto the instance that you’re on.
- No way to search through the whole fediverse for content on many instances, but it is available on some, like fair.tube.
This is just my opinion so correct me if you think I’m wrong. Many of these problems have plagued the site for a while.

Android@lemmy.world•Anyone just hates how some apps can disable screenshots?English
3·1 year agoI understand the reasoning for it since many apps can see photos on your device so if it is something that should stay private you probably shouldn’t be taking screenshots anyway, but I also can see how it could be annoying. I quite like the feature on messaging apps actually.

I mean isn’t it already that is included in the datasets? It’s pretty much a mix of everything.
If you’re not opposed to apple then I would suggest getting an iPad – they are actually really completely priced compared to phones.

It’s not a security breach per se. Someone accidentally added a journalist to the group. Signal is still as safe as it’s ever been.
