Never had any desire to watch 1.11, 3.33, 3.14159… etc after seeing the original. Just completely turned me off.

51·5 days agoSomething that caught my attention. I ordered two random, non-Christmas items on Monday. I fully expected not to see them until later this week or next week. Much to my surprise, they’re out for delivery today.
The sheer fact I could order something 3 days before Christmas and have it arrive on Christmas Eve tells me that shipping rates are much lower this year than they have been in years past, which means people aren’t ordering the same amount they used to.

7·5 days agoYeah, I’m really curious about the naming. Most places use nearby airport codes, of which I can’t find any matching codes nearby. Also they usually start numbering from 1 and I can’t find any facilities numbered 1-5. Does anyone have more information on the naming as this looks really weird.

11·6 days agoIf they want to be part of the US they’re welcome to try to emigrate to the US. But given that’s only about 15% of the population, I believe the correct sentiment is: get the fuck out of here with that.
Generally no. Most of those variables are mounted RO now. Additionally you can factory reset the board and recover. There were some systems a while ago when UEFI first came out that didn’t correctly manage that, but that hasn’t been a problem for years now.
In the early 90s, Linux actually let you set hsync on your monitors, not just vsync. With a CRT you could literally fry it with an invalid number. Generally I wasn’t as cautious because I knew I could never really brick a computer, except for that setting.
I never used CS (Cable Select) after accidentally nuking a drive because I had two of the exact same model and it flipped the order on reboot… couldn’t figure out why it didn’t boot and then noticed I cloned the blank drive to the good drive…
Dude is posting more times in a day than Trump on one of his rants…. He really needs some help and from what I’m reading he didn’t like Reddit, so went to Lemmy, we’re telling him the same thing which most likely means he’s gonna bail to another platform and shop around for someone who validates his echo chamber.

Except if you want to start at a certain time stamp. For that you use “t=“. So arguments are still required in some cases too.
