With the recent update I can’t cast anymore, it just says 'no devices found '. I’ve tried clearing out cache/storage, reinstall. Tested on a Pixel Fold 2, Pixel 6 and Pixel 7.

Anyone experiencing the same? I’ve never had any such issues with previous versions of the app.

Aha, your pihole comment made me remember I’m using a third party/private DNS. I switched off private DNS in settings et voilà, my devices appeared.

However, just like you, I can connect but not actually cast anything.

Anyway, glad to hear it’s not just me. Clearly an app issue, then.

Edit: I meant for this to be a reply to @shnizmuffin

I am experiencing the same issue. If I disable my pihole, I can discover some of my Chromecast devices, but can’t actually stream to them.

Update: Adding *.claspws.tv to the allowlist for your private DNS could make casting work again.

I say could because for me it only made casting to a Chromecast Ultra work. Casting to e.g. a Chromecast with Google TV, or a Home hub is a no go. I can connect to those devices but not actually play anything.
