Bit late to the party, but I started the Konosuba light novels. It’s my first foray into the medium and it’s definitely not what I’m used to in terms of amount of detail. It’s not bad, but I’m very glad I’ve watched the anime beforehand for a lot of the characterization it does early on.
With Ascendance of a Bookworm, I had watched the anime several years before reading the LN, so somehow that made Myne’s voice really weird, because I misremembered it. Sort of like a voice that a girl character would use if she was pretending to be an old lady.
I ended up going back and rewatching the anime, and then when I reread the LN, her voice alternated between the anime voice and the weird one.

Fun thing about watching the anime first is that you read all the text now in their voices.
