…“senior level” prompt engineering, at that.
Senior Prompt Engineer Must haves: - 10 years experience
To what extent is this even a skill?
better than tardy engineer
I got your tardi’ engineer right here…
I looked up the job listings and I understand how it is at least a real job, although not one I’d want to go anywhere near. You’re taking the raw user input and developing a set of prompts that you can wrap it with and feed into a general purpose LLM to parse it into more predictable pieces of data, and then prompts to wrap those pieces of data with to feed your local special-purpose LLM, then finally a prompt to wrap that output in and feed back to the general purpose LLM so it will give the customer [something closely resembling] an answer. It’s a programming job and the majority of the work would be in not the prompts but the python logic holding them all together. No vibe coding should need to be involved, you could do all that offline in Notepad++, except in reality, no you can’t because the company management is going to insist you use AI assistance as much as possible and then some.
Where the heck have you actually seen that? I have only heard it out of the lips of bs tech bros.
wow.
