Other platforms are like “please buy a new iphone to use this app”, Mastodon is like “there’s a new version out for the Apple II”
honestly I think stuff like this shouldnt be disregarded as powerful selling points for the fediverse. like you will ALWAYS be able to use this place with any piece of technology that has some connection to something (doesn’t even have to be to the internet) where as you can’t use instagram on an old phone like at all lol
