Once a company goes public is when you should abandon all hope. Capitalism cares about money. That’s it. A publicly traded company has a fiduciary responsibility to its shareholders to make decisions that make line go up. That’s it. After the UHC CEO murder, the shareholders sued the company for not making decisions that benefited them. Money is god, and that is all that matters.

67·3 days agoI live in the US Midwest with almost no accent. Anytime I go somewhere where people have strong accents, my brain really has to work to understand them. It’ll take a couple of days of immersion before I really start to understand people.

13·10 days agoI’m 41. Grew up in Kansas. We were a Republican family. So glad I listened to all the brain tickles over the years that sounded like complete bullshit. Once I learned to think for myself, I’ve been a much happier person.
