That’s no slices.

CSS is for StyleSheets (so yes layout and font but also more). Adding these features allows for more reactive/responsive styles where the style may be behaviorally defined instead of hardcoding styles.
Basically the only thing I can think of to do with it is some kind of reactive layout that crunches some data and responds to it. IDK, I’m not a web dev and try to avoid CSS when I can.

If Cory Doctorow’s talk on Post US tech is accurate I suspect users may be able to take quite a bit of control back from corpos soon enough.

How are we meant to have these conversations if people keep complaining about the personification of LLMs without offering alternative phrasing? Showing up and complaining without offering a solution is just that, complaining. Do something about it. What do YOU think we should call the active context a model has access to without personifying it or overtechnicalizing the phrasing and rendering it useless to laymen, @neclimdul@lemmy.world?

When it’s broken beyond repair, I’ll order a cheap one and go without for a couple weeks. This happens every 4 years or so.

I recommend giving the wikipedia page a quick looksie, especially the “Git Server” section.
Git isn’t a service like you may be expecting, but git servers can be. GitHub, GitTea, GitLab, SourceForge, and Codeberg are all examples of such services, all of which can be used with the git tool.

Straight to the void where it belongs

What is your problem with it? Just seems like an accessability feature to me. The one issue I see with it is folks who don’t need it using it in lieu of walkthroughs and wasting energy. I don’t expect that to be that big an issue though, generally people buy games because they want to play them.

Nah, just grainy as hell. The perspective feels weird because of the industrial sized (but consumer shaped?) Baby oil on the right.
Yeah I realized that immediately after I commented and deleted my comment, I guess the delete didn’t federate out yet.
What do those lines represent? This graph is missing critical information!

A Relatively recent gaming-type setup with local-ai or llama.cpp is what I’d recommend.
I do most of my AI stuff with an rtx3070, but I also have a ryzen 7 3800x with 64gb RAM for heavy models where I don’t so much care how long it takes but need the high parameter count for whatever reason, for example MoE and agentic behavior.

Always keep the lid down to minimize poop spray!

I know people are holding out for legit Steam OS, but Bazzite exists specifically for those people, who would prefer to hold out for Steam OS.
Might be worth looking at, its not for tinkerers.

James Hoffman released a video on this on YT a couple weeks ago, its a bacteria that’s unique to the gut biome of Coffee drinkers.
The video is more playful and cartoony than his normal work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZnAQ-PWQdg

I like chocolate with cheese, or with salt. Not really a fan of super sweet chocolate, 90%+ dark for me.

I usually just shonen anime fight scene scream ‘caaaAAAaaat’ from accross the room to get their attention.

I think ML tools are neat. I think LLMs are a neat tool when used intentionally and not as the “think for me” button. I’m really upset about the PC parts market right now thanks to AI, as soon as I get into selfhosting smdh.
I think multimedia generation tools are dubiously ethicle. With our Current energy generation structure and the ongoing political turmoil, these tools are dangerous when used irresponsibly.
AGI is a crock of malarkey, and markov chains are never gonna get us there.
I should add some of the tools I use. I host Nextcloud, through Nextcloud I host talk. I have all my conversations in talk fed into a whisper model and an llm to transcribe to text and summarize the calls. I also run facial recognition in immich, which is also AI. I host a qwen coder model to digest docs into simple english and generate reference snippets for coding.
AI is cool, and we should keep using it, but also its not efficient enough and big AI server farms are killing the planet.
I tell my family “I’ll fix it if it’s hardware but I’m not touching your windows machine, that’s broken by design”
