Personally I run Linux/FreeBSD on my servers but use macOS / iOS on my laptop/tablet/phone, best of both worlds.
You can trigger the ‘find phone’ function on your Apple Watch. The phone will make a sound and your watch shows a live view of how far away the phone is and a general direction.
That’s mainly the US though. Here in the Netherlands they are planning cities with the intent to discourage car use as much as possible.

You can drive 12 hummers powered by crude oil and eat steak every day at not have even a fraction of the impact of just one child. Having one less child results in a ecological-footprint reduction equivalent to 58.6 tonnes of CO2 a year. By contrast, living car-free saves 2.4 tonnes a year, eating a plant-based diet saves 0.82 tonnes a year.
Not reproducing is the single most impactful thing you can do for the environment by a huge margin.

You’re just mad because I’m pre-empting your bullshit. You ask ‘what country’ and then plan to go blabbing about how that country sucks and how much better the US is. You know just as well as me that the US is shithole by pretty much every metric.

I won’t ever visit that shithole of a country either. I live 9 ranks above the US according to the UN Human Development Index, although I’m sure that gap will widen with president Cheeto at the helm.
I sure hope not. Sodium nitrite is one of the ‘problematic’ compounds and is used when curing meat, especially to prevent the bacteria that produces botulinum toxin from growing. While nitrites may kill you slowly, botulism can kill you much faster.
The problem with food that contains the botulism bacteria is that you don’t notice it. It doesn’t look or smell any different. Any meat that wasn’t cured using a specific minimum percentage of sodium nitrite is not to be trusted.
But isn’t your sample biased because you’re a repair tech? People with working appliances don’t call you.
How often do you encounter, for example, a broken Miele washing machine?
