CAVOK@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is one moral you have that most people don't agree with?1·29 days agoFreedom of Movement (FoM) has worked out pretty well for the EU, especially well before the enlargement. The tensions came with the inclusion of the old “eastern bloc” countries where there was a rather large disparity between them and the richer west. I’m generally in favour of FoM, but I also recognise that with a big difference in standards there will be some issues.
So yes, FoM works, but there has to be rules attached. The UK didn’t apply most of the rules they could have, which eventually led to a perception that FoM is bad, and then Brexit.
CAVOK@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is one moral you have that most people don't agree with?1·30 days agoWhere are these open borders you speak of?
In the EU. You’re free to move to any member country to live and work there.
Then we had brexit, and as huge part of that was the “freedom of movement” in the EU. The British didn’t like “Polish plumbers” coming to the UK.
The things people do in the search for true love…

Not sure about Vipps/Mobilepay, but for Swish I don’t think you do. It’s connected directly to the bank account IIRC.
If you’re in the Nordics I suggest Vipps/Mobilepay/Swish as payment methods.

Maybe put an NSFW tag if you’re going to show dead people?
There’s been a lot of talk/news over at the Europe community about how a lot of Canadians want to join the EU. Not that I think it’s likely, so it was just a little silly joke.
I thought the bigger goal was to break free from the US hegemony as much as anything. If I’m way out of line in this thinking then the mods are free to remove this post.
Never heard of it, but will look it up for sure.

However, if you want to help, just log in to openstreetmap and fix it.

This seems pretty fair to me.

CAVOK@lemmy.worldto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Is this being used for fediverse stuff yet?English5·2 months agoSounds a bit like zeronet that I think is dead now, but was pretty cool when I tried it.
I do. I donate as often as I’m allowed, which is about 4 times a year. The only effect I’ve felt is that exercise, especially cardio, is a bit harder. My time on a 5k run dropped noticeably.
Donated 60 times in total so far, which means there’s more of my blood in other people, than in me. By quite a lot.
Happy to hear that. Not usable yet?
