I work a 4x10 workweek right now. Huge improvement on my quality of life. I use my free weekday to handle chores and shopping and appointments, then actually spend my weekend with my family. I’ve been doing this for about 3 years.
I know I’ll lose this someday. Eventually somebody will use it against me. That’s the day I’ll start entertaining new opportunities.

Even the toploaders do the same thing now. They don’t actually fill with water like they used to. I got frustrated with my modern toploader and that’s how I wound up with the highest rated frontloader I could find. Both garbage.
The washing machine I bought in 1996 for $250 cleaned clothes better than any machine I’ve had in decades.

Now you can’t buy washing machines that actually wash your clothes in water. They all spritz your clothes with a little water then jiggle around your damp clothes for a bit.
I don’t live in a desert. I live in a place with access to plenty of water. I should be allowed to buy a washing machine that actually fills up with soapy water and washes my damn clothes.
I could buy a Speed Queen washer for $2,000 from a specialty store, but that’s ridiculous. Why can’t I just buy a washing machine that washes my clothes? They’re ALL terrible now. All the washers in all the big box stores are just…bad.

I know professional wrestling is as real as the MCU or the latest episode of Severance. I am still entertained by all three.
Wrestling winds up in the “sports” section because news outlets have to classify it somehow. That’s not the fault of wrestling fans.

So what will the authorities in the Netherlands do in this situation? Put a ticket on it and then wait for the owner to move it? Tow it to an impound lot? Flip it and light it on fire?

EDIT: I’ve been in this situation in streetcars in San Francisco and New Orleans. No emergency vehicles came, no super tow truck…the streetcar just waited and blocked traffic until the driver came back and moved their vehicle. I don’t know what would have happened if the driver never came back, but nothing happened in the 20-30 minutes we waited.
Florida is purposefully trying to destroy it’s own public school system. They make being a public school teacher so undesirable, and then complain about a “teacher shortage”. Of course nobody wants to be a public school teacher in Florida. You can get fired for how you address someone?

It definitely made me want to like Earl Grey. It’s just not my jam though. It even made me start trying all the different teas I could find because I wanted to be cultured enough to have a preferred tea. I even tried Lapsang Souchong which is basically barbecue tea.
Turns out tea is pretty easy to drink and I’m pretty basic. Oolong, black, or green are great.

The part that really sucks is you don’t get to really understand this until you’re in your 30s/40s. We spend all this time trying to fill a hole in ourselves that can’t be filled with stuff.

Absolutely, the lack of money will make you unhappy. Without a doubt. But I’ve never got a 20% raise and felt 20% happier. You’re always gonna be who you are, money or not.
Mountain house with a hot tub. Hands down. Assuming I am the one purchasing the property with my own money, of course.
Beach House: The beach gets boring after a while. Beachfront property cost 2-3 times more than comparable property.
House with a pool: Pools get crazy boring after a while. It’s just a hole in the ground with water in it. A house with a pool is cheaper than a beach house so assuming you have the same amount of money you get way more house for the same money. Better than a beach house, but a pool, specifically an in-ground pool is a permanent commitment. I have a pool. Nobody uses it. I just maintain it.
Mountain house with a hot tub: Have you been to the mountains? Holy crap. It’s BEAUTIFUL. Also, just like the house with a pool, you can afford waaay more house than some dinky beachfront house for the same money. Also, when you get bored with the hot tub, just tear it out and put in a nice fire pit.
I mean getting 4 or 8 or 12 or 16 hours a day of work out of me is kind of ridiculous anyway. I don’t have a job where X hours = Y production. “40 hours” a week is just my employer’s antiquated way of quantifying my work. I would prefer they just let me handle my responsibilities.
