Comme Restus, on the other hand, are stupidly catchy. I know of them since I was a teen. Speaking of questionable lyrics, I gotta mention Kalashnikov. Lyrical content aside, there are some great riffs in there.

+1 for Mata-Ratos, probably my favourite punk band from Portugal.

It is true that their failure was due to internal corruption and not the issues that led to the subprime crisis. I misunderstood the question and concede the point.

But the subprime crisis (or the financial landscape after it) did expose the frailties (and in those cases I mentioned, corruption) of the Portuguese banks and was a non-insignificant factor in their demise. But I suppose you can say the same for a lot of other banks in other countries.

Hell March! The Red Alert 2 version is the best one to me, maybe because it was the first I heard or because it just feels punchier.

I can’t pick just one, honestly. Aside from the Tetris theme and World 1-1 from the original Super Mario Bros., I consider these to be not only catchy but also iconic:

• Guile theme for SSF2
• Rip & Tear from DOOM (2016). A modern day classic, imo
• Brinstar from the original Metroid
• Hail to the king, baby

I actually watched the first episode of The Inbetweeners yesterday and I loved it. I saw my teenage self more times than I care to admit in that episode.

As for Tori Amos, this cover is off her Strange Little Girls album, a cover-only album she released in 2001. I’ve read it’s a bit inconsistent though.

I mostly play fighting games nowadays and I think people can learn a lot about mental self-improvement by playing them online. Namely:

• The main one for me: how to accept losses and learn from them. Losing/making mistakes is not the end of the world but an opportunity to learn from, grow and get better. Losing gives you experience if only on what not to do in a given situation
• Not expecting short-term improvement and that you’ll get better at something overnight. Be patient, understand and accept that on some days you’ll be at the top of your game and on others you can’t even think straight. Think in medium-to-long term
• Sometimes losing/making a lot of mistakes will get you mad. And that’s okay. Take a breather if you can.
• Not comparing yourself to others and let yourself get discouraged. Everyone has their own rhythm. Maybe you’ll need to work harder than others on some things. But that’s just how it is sometimes. Keep at it and you’ll eventually see improvements.

Whatever Daisuke Ishiwatari comes up with next. Right now it’s Radiant Dawn , Dizzy’s theme from Guilty Gear Strive. Thought it was cool at first, nothing mind blowing. Now I can’t stop hearing it in my head.
