I think that 70 years of McCarthyism poisoned the western discourse so much that without rebranding communism, it won’t happen.

The overtone window is so far right that people mistake the center-right for the left.

Just saying communism or socialism is enough to brand one as such and close any form of debate.

History has been weaponized against the people in such a way that there is two versions of each events in the communism world - and no amount of verification and denial will make the participants realize that it’s mostly fog of war and propaganda.

Right now, there is rampant sinophobia and russophobia that helps re-inforce the “communism bad” narrative.

News from North Korea are ridiculized and each success is turned into a “but how many person died for dear leader” joke.

In the western world, the media control is total and the political system is hopelessly liberal, to a point where it’s a central democracy in which the only ideology possible is how to enrich the current kleptocrats.

Revolution is nearly impossible, as social movements are seen as disruptive, and the latent fascism of the west make the proletariats think they are better than their neighbors. This blatant lack of empathy makes it impossible for the proletariats to stage protests and class solidarity.

The proletariat has been atomized, bought and browbeaten into submission and will not move forward while the kleptocrats pillage the commun good, and build themselves survival systems for the systemic collapse of our ecosystem.

So, I think the future will see a collapse of human populations, a replacement of human expertise by technolocial systems, all of that to make the news kings - the childrens and chosen ones of the current kleptocrats - the new custodians of what will be left of humanity and our ecosystems.

I don’t think the current post communist-era countries have what they need to counter this trend.

Fascism is rising again, and will oppose what could be the hope of all, for personal gains.

But after that, maybe communism and humanty has a chance…

Here’s a version without an ideological filter : An actuary will calculate what is the best for the stock market for a corporation: invest into automation or offshore production to a country where production is cheaper. It’s mostly always cheaper to offshore than invest in automation.

At some point, no offshoring option exist and some actuary will actually tell their masters to invest in automation. Some will do, but research is not always successful and takes a long time.

Neo-liberal gov. will seek stability and so they will either invest into their friends corporation, to stabilize them and enrich themselves. This will mean wage stagnation and being outcompeted by countries that successfully automated.

At this point, the empire will grow hungry for stability and stock market growth, and will either try to make another country it’s cheap offshore location, by several economic, diplomatic or even millitary strategy or start to make it’s actually population serf again.

If the second happens, chances of revolution starts to go up. We may see a modern French-style revolution in the empire, or something like that, start to be more likely.

But more realistically, we won’t get to see this, as the climate is already starting to disrupt human activity. The western empire is already imploding and unable to respond to the new reality so mostly, no one serious is able to predict the next few years.

It’s a disruptive new technology that disrupt an industry that already has trouble giving a living to people in the western world.

The reaction is warranted but it’s now a fact of life. It just show how stupid our value system is and most liberal have trouble reconciling that their hardship is due to their value and economic system.

Is this going to put you or others in danger? If the climate is non-violent and really academic I don’t see a problem.

But if you fear for your security or that of others, I wouldn’t risk it.

University’s also usually have more freedom of expression granted.

I used to run a Roleplay Club in college that had after hour philosophy sessions. I don’t think I converted anyone but it made me kiss a lot of people that was out of my reach…

Well, yes you can. You can do that from the US also, but you need to upgrade your opsec.

You have to realize that communism is not words.

It’s actions.

Don’t preach, don’t proselytize, don’t pontificate.

Just do.

Give your time to those who needs it. Help around; Make material reality better around you. Listen to the plight of other proles. Make them realize they also can help others.

But if you want a bigger impact, here’s what you need to do :

Organize in secret : Pile up tech ( generative ai tech from free sources), Private lemmys for communism discussion , Old unlocked phones in case you need to communicate in a crackdown. Build a faraday cage and stock your pilled up tech ( hard drives and cellphones ) in there. You will need all of that to build a real resistance.

Find a core of people who shares your ideals, but don’t tell them what they are. Never say the word communism in public. Never meet in public. Don’t chose people who will put words before actions. Don’t choose braggarts or ideologist or worst - people who do stuff because it look good.

People will hear communism and think “capitain america against the red menace” automatically. Just pollinate the ideas - they are self evident truth that can’t be discounted in good faith - just don’t tell people where the theory comes from. If they ask, just say it’s common sense. If they are Christian, just say it’s just what Jesus talked about when he was talking about the “Kingdom of God” - It’s mostly true.

Then cultivate influence, network and find people who can change things at a local level. Get them to share your mindset, just don’t use the words communism and trans as they are loaded and will make you a target.

With all that in place, you are in a good position to change things once the status quo starts to move.

But first - Stay safe. Protect yourself and your loved ones. Being dead means it was all a waste.

Here is what I’d do.

Find a group who are trans-friendly in another country where they teach the program you want. Community/friend will be helpful because they will know how to protect you, what to say/do in a foreign land.

Then study how to get a student visa there and apply to a school that teach your program. Also if you are a top performer, they may be interested in hosting you with social advantages (lodging/food/other nice stuff). So shop around.

The world is not a friendly place right now. You might want to tell everyone you are a trans-communist but right now your first focus should be your survival. To survive you will need to keep your ideals to yourself for a while.

Also be wary of anyone who tries to convince you there are magical place where everything is nice. These persons are ideologists and should be ignored until you can ascertain for yourself what is the material reality of the place.

So: TL;DR.

Look for a community first. Don’t listen to fairy tales. Look at the actual reality of the place. Talk to people actually living there who are people that are at least, a bit like you. Then find a school and contact them. Then get a student visa or equivalent. Hide what you are as much as you can.
