But what am I doing, right?
I looked at your profile and history just to see if you ever actually said anything you’re doing. Looks like you’re doing a whole lot of nothing but being a whiny troll, yeesh.

I’d wager money you’re not out there doing any shooting yourself.
It’s one thing to write some words on Lemmy, it’s another to grab a gun and put your life on the line. It’s even another step to go and actually take someone’s life. I don’t think it’s so easy to kill people.
By all means though, you’re in America - if you have the money arm up and go shoot some ICE agents. See what happens, maybe it’ll help maybe it won’t but either way you’ll be doing what you say people should be doing.

The man was on the ground already when the first shot happened. I call total bullshit on the narrative DHS and ICE are trying to cook up.

At this point maybe they should be getting reason(s) to fear for their lives because apparently you can be on the receiving end of nothing but peaceful protests for weeks, hell by now it’s many months in places, and still fear for your life.
Also, this is the USA, we are allowed to have guns as civilians (for better or worse). Just being in possession of a firearm should be be a fucking pretense for murder.
ICE is just begging to get shot and they’re going to deserve it when it finally does happen.
As a verified adult™ that scene hits way too close to home way too often. It’s like I gotta do chores so I can do chores so I can …play some videogames… No wait actually it’s so I can do more chores.

The important thing to remember is that it’s never the fault of the people in power. It’s always the gross, dumb, smelly voters who can’t pick the Lesser Of Two Evils often enough.
It’s both. I’m not going to pretend that people voting against their own self interests isn’t a problem. If people actually voted in a way that would help them we’d have a lot more Dems than Republicans in the USA.
It’s stupid to pretend we don’t live in a first past the post system where most voters are going to vote straight D or straight R. Voting 3rd party is just shredding your vote in almost all cases.

You can call a kid being a garbage person a garbage person. Doesn’t mean you won’t help them and correct the behavior.
You’re welcome to downvote whatever you want but this post isn’t violating any of the rules as far as I know.
Sir, this community is called Lemmy Shitpost. I’m pretty sure everyone has the right to post whatever the fuck they want here. It’s a forum for shitposting.
I’ve been speaking English daily for at least 15 years and I still have no idea what’s correct, just what “feels right”.
That’s literally everyone that speaks English. Including those of us for whom English is their native tongue. <- For example, I think I worded that correctly but I’m still not sure and I’ve spoken English for over 30 years now. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yes, multiple in fact.
Just super quick search for “app to track phone location” popped up 3 big ones.

All I thought was those are definitely not windows 95. They probably did check the discs and found malware of whatever sort. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re literally being used to install backdoors on legacy infrastructure systems that report back to China - crippling our infrastructure at a moments notice is a pretty strong weapon.
Or maybe it’s not malicious but hey I’m just some random guy on the internet shit posting, I just like to think up spy novel stuff happening irl because it’s fun.

I’ve always done left and right wrist, rub the wrists around my chest and neck. Maybe one spray for neck too depending on how strong it is.
Idk I also never spray anything over my clothes either that seems like too much. But hey at least you aren’t completely bathing yourself in it. It might still be too strong for people who are sensitive to smells. Just a thought.

I don’t understand how you see that video and come away with any other conclusion
You understand completely, most of those folks didn’t watch the video(s) and if they’ve seen any footage of the incident it’s shortened clips that are edited to be disingenuous at best and downright lies at worst.
I don’t know what it is about people that make them think any law enforcement officer, ever, should be putting themselves in front of a vehicle when there is no danger to the community or bystanders if the person just left. It 100% is on that officer, that man should be locked up in prison.
It’s despicable, disgusting, and frankly un-American what is going on and sadly it’s going to keep going on until more blood is spilled.
This joke probably hits differently depending on your perspective and opinion on graphic design for UI.
But yeah the icons changed over time from the inkpot on the far right to the flat one on the left, so the joke is that over time they got worse not better.

Anyways, on the off hand change you’re engaging in good faith and not just a troll - I highly suggest you read up some on the history of minority groups in the USA; particularly how former slaves were treated and how the reconstruction era after the civil war really fucked them over. Plus just the general exploitation of cheap migrant labor.
That’s all I’ll say about all this.

Cream rises to the top all by itself, doesn’t it? You don’t need to legislate that. Neither do you need to legislate gravity.
But you do need to legislate against discrimination and pollution and etc (insert long list of heinous shit that’s happened in American history that led to legislation).
The reason there is no meritocracy in our economy is precisely because we have laws against it, not in spite of it.
No. It’s because of crony capitalism and human nature and more but it definitely isn’t because we have laws against it. That doesn’t even make sense.
Or are you saying that hiring the most competent people isn’t an automatic guarantee that you’ll crush it? In which case, why would you be in favor of a law that requires employers to hire the most competent candidates?
I’m saying you can have more talented people and still lose in the marketplace for a zillion reasons. I’m in favor of laws that protect people from being discriminated against, which generally leads to more qualified people getting hired regardless of their skin color.

No because that’s not punishing anyone.
What you’re saying is a classic strawman fallacy.

That’s not how it works in real life and I think you know that.
Capitalism is its own complex beast and one I’m not going to opine on here but I fucking wish we lived in a meritocracy where you could just hire people that are good and magically crush it in the market. We very much don’t.
That book was a great read. I really enjoyed it, the themes of capitalist consumerism and greed were neatly wrapped up in the madness of cannibalism.
The ending where >!the guy ends up killing the woman that became too human in his eyes!< was a great twist. Would definitely recommend that book to anyone who enjoys reading.
