I can remember that it was extremely painful and that blisters were coming a few days after the initial burn, but I don’t remember the exact pain., thankfully. And I remember the family that was there for me as I healed. You’ll be tender for a bit; but I daresay you will remember your wife’s support long after your new skin is not tender. I’m glad you have good support and a good attitude. That’s key to healing.

You’re welcome! I’m glad you’re feeling better. When it happened to me, the thing that haunted me was the smell, and I was very anxious for a few decades about having to perform the activity that caused it, but I couldn’t avoid it and eventually got over myself.

A lot of temp agencies in my area have day laborers on the books, which means they’re supposed to use the verification database, in theory.

It’s quite common for native - born and immigrants to gather in parking lots where construction, hotel and other service industry supervisors may need an extra employee or crew due to regular hire unforseen absences, or rush projects. For example, a smoker in a non-smoking unit, hotel deep cleaning, or a construction project that won’t get paid because the deadline is too close for the regular crew to finish on time. Also ordinary citizens who may need help moving, or a home repair they thought they could manage on their own but can’t.

I just foresee this irritating customers, and without forethought.

When it keeps happening by people in positions of an authority, it’s a pattern of abuse, not a mistake. And predators are really good at masking and positioning as authority figures or other power positions.

I’m not sure if your arguments are conditioning/naïveté, gaslighting, plain ignorance, or gaslighting, but they sound a lot like abusers I’ve encountered, inside societal institutions. I invite you to reflect rather than deflect and excuse the inexcusable.

Probably the same fathers and mothers who moments molest their children, sell them to pay for bills and drugs and anything else.

Let’s not pretend other religions’ adherents don’t also indulge in/participate in/create porn, human trafficking, and other horrific abuses of adults and children. From Buddhists to taoists to Hindus and monotheists and everyone else.
