It is simply any form of mass communication over the internet, including but not limited to email mailing lists, BBS, or even “just chat” because surprise, people use these systems as social media.

Idk if you’re being deliberately being obtuse, but the gay community uses these apps a lot as social media. They have group chats, friend lists, friend only conversations, video chat, and all that jazz.

I know it’s a dumb meme, but strong disagree on grid cities. They always violate the natural landscape of the city, and are only easier to navigate if the land is very flat, or if you are driving.

The windy roads of organically developed cities look confusing on a map, but are often way easier to navigate and understand when on foot. Wayfinding is instead done in terms of natural features, e.g. go downhill towards the river until you hit the main street.

The lack of a difference between the words drug/medicine seems to be more pronounced in US English, where it is common to say terms such as drugstore. In Commonwealth/UK English, the term chemist is more commonly used, and the terms drug/medicine usually have bad/good connotations. I think most would be alarmed if you said you went to the store to pick up some drugs!

Advertisers cannot purchase your data, only “impressions” or “views.” In an extra sinister twist, Google/big tech then uses it’s resources to manipulate you in ways such that their predictions become true.

This is why their predictions are the best, because after making them, they have a financial incentive to manipulate them into being true. It is why we naturally see more and more polarization, because after Google has sold the prediction that you will engage is a specific type of content (e.g. right ring rabbit holes), it is financially incentivised to make that a reality, and therefore further push you in that direction, to make their prediction true.
