13 days agoExactly my thoughts. Take your RAM and test it with another CPU + MoBo combo. Ask friends. I bet the RAM is good.

doubt that there are a lot of systems with damaged memory floating around.
Let’s say that you would be surprised if we actually started checking this. I will not disclose my occupation but there are thousands of critical telco infrastructure pieces of equipment that run not only a non-ECC ram because of cost cutting, but with actually broken DRAM modules, regularly rebooting at least a few times a day and causing local outages…
Back to the topic at hand - doesn’t it seem strange that only CPU4 finds issues in memtest86? It could be a CPU or even motherboard that got damaged and not the DRAM itself, no?

Exactly my thoughts lately… Having access to technology and enough funding, I wonder how fast anyone could spin-up “emergency” manufacturing of DDR5 RAM.

Title is misleading, or maybe even totally wrong. There is no spin-off, everything inside Nokia got joined together into two main units. Total opposite of a spin-off
42·2 months agoNot true. I can even develop Linux device drivers on it after figuring out modules signing. Basic stuff if you ask me. Bazzite is as good for developers as any other distro.
We have Linuxbrew. Homebrew but for Linux. Battletested by countless devs previously using MacOS.

I have a pointer heavy workload due to being forced to use Windows at work AND scrolling heavy workload due to me reading tons of technical data sheets and others people code every day. Typical mouse scroll wheels survive up to a year with me until they start skipping lines, gaming mouses up to two years. My last purchase was Logitech G502 which I selected deliberately due to it having heavy metal scroll wheel. So far it exceeded the two years mark :)
Do you maybe have some thoughts or tips that would help me better organize my setup? I am looking at buying Kinesis or Glove80, but that does nothing for my scrolling problem.
