And they were right. Those tools are alright if you know how to verify information, but ease of access to information dulls that ability.

That’s nice, but how do you remember a style of writting of 200 students? I see it working when one has 20 students to worry about, but that isn’t a common teacher experience.

I’m not a fan of GDP as any measure of anything. Buying a piece of sausage from a supermarket through a chain of middle men, industrial meat processing companies, slaughterhauses and livestock traders generates many times more GDP than buying the same sausage from a neighbouring farmer even though there is absolutely no added value. I am convinced that GDP measures mostly how bizantine are chains of production and trade networks and how many corporate middle men extract money from workers between production and consumption of anything.

They were always shitting on teens doing anything even remotely individualistic and constantly talking about being humble. That’s how I viewed my parents and grandparents generations between 90s and circa 2010.

What happened to right wingers? I clearly remember that narcism was universally considered a bad trait especially among conservatives. How are they accepting that?

That’s a weird cult they have going on there. I’m quite sure people weren’t this crazy 20 years ago. In my country we are having elections this year and out of curiosity I watched debates from the 90s, I was astonished that there was at least some discourse, conversation and that politicians were talking about real problems while bringing up real data. Idiocracy seems more real than ever.
Where? Pax Americana enveloped all of the developed world and American shanenigans have an impact on everywhere it would be nice to live. Late stage capitalism is a global problem nowadays. Americans are getting fucked economically but europeans are facing the collapse of security structures and the need for huge arms investments, also the wave of right wing populism doesn’t seem to be receeding. IDK too much about situation in south America but apart from Argentina 100 years ago SA countries never seemed to be the best of countries to live. Developed nations of Asia probably have the same problems as Europe right now.
I guess we should just hope that China doesn’t turn their strategy from economic expansion to something more imperialistic and will still be satisfied with us just consuming tons of their plastic shit.

Of course, first things need to hit rock bottom for regular people to demand fair treatment.

If people loose their jobs due to society being fed up with certain companies then it’s bad, it would be praiseworthy though if the same companies fired people due to automation or outsourcing to India. “Economics” media is a codeword for bootlicking propaganda.

Plague massively increased economic situation of peasants in western Europe.

Every lottery run by private business is not a lottery but transfer of money from gullible to someone’s friends and family.
No. The insanity of hustle culture there is off-putting to me and offers I got from there were always worse than whatever I could find through real life network.

CO2 saturators are cheap. I love carbonated water and all I buy is a gas bottle fill every two months or so for 15 euro, on top of that I don’t need to carry any heavy bottles upstairs.

Tap water here has a lot of calcium in it. Good for drinking but without filtering it would destroy my espresso machine in a month.

There literally was never a valid reason to use this service. Knowledge about possibility of my great x 30 grandmother being raped by a Mongol raider is not even a fun fact to say at parties.

Back in mid 00s I created a forum for fellow classmates to share notes, info on exams and whatever. It was active for a year or a bit more, then someone set up a Facebook page for our group and the forum died in about a month. I could not understand why people migrated so quickly, Facebook group was atrocious when it comes to search functions, any files, notes or anything you didn’t download immediatelly were lost to time never to be seen again. If the forum is still up I’m sure I’d still be able to easily download exam schedules and all notes from all the classes there, with Facebook it was a pain even a week after someone posted. There is something fundamentally wrong with society if an inferior product can sweep the board so easily. People do not care about quality or usefulness of anything, all that matters is marketing and trends.
Naleśnik in Polish. Etymology is unclear but certainly slavic. Most current hypothesis claims it’s from “na liściu” meaning something baked on a leaf.
We eat them with various jams, Nutella, anything sweet, sweetened cottage cheese or quark or curd or whatever a “twaróg” would translate to is a popular filling too.

Paving all of them over would be a huge endeavor. I hope Putins orange labrador doesn’t take is as a challenge.

I don’t read much, probably still more than most people but that is still only 3 or 4 books a year so I just buy my books and after a couple years when im sure I won’t be reading them again I donate them to libraries. Libraries are a marvelous invention, I love those places even though I almost never use them. Just imagine how controversial they would be if they never existed and someone had the idea of them now. People would be crying piracy and socialism until their faces turn red.
Conservative neo liberals are on the rise in most of the western world so corporations do not think this masquerade is profitable anymore. Corporations never cared about lgbt crowd.
