My understanding is that that they identified genes associated with 20 key characteristics of direwolves, and edited those genes in the grey wolf genome. The judge knows this, which is why he ordered the return. Now we get to find out what, if anything, might happen if the government flouts the order.

How can this be constitutional? This is a huge governmental intrusion into the personal lives of these personnel. I understand what the concern is, but I’ve never seen such an attempt to rule over the personal lives of employees.
