  • As someone with Autism and ADHD which you might call “wholesome” mental health conditions, I can tell you that society might claim to be open to us but it really isn’t very much.

I’m lucky to have friends who accept me as I am, it might have helped that they knew of what I have before they became my friends. But even with them I cannot be completely myself, just mostly.

The hardest thing for me in society is that people don’t really understand how we are different, and I think you have the same problem. People just see a person with a condition in a movie and assume that that’s how it must be in reality.

I hope your friends will be able to understand you better, I wish you luck. Maybe it could help to explain to them how it affects you, so it’s not some condition to them that they are not sure of but very concrete symptoms.

  • It’s the same in Germany, I’ve been in a sign making factory and they will make signs for everyone who pays. The illegal part is not owning them, the only illegal part would be putting them up on public streets without authorization. You are definetly allowed to use these signs on your own private ground, on a private parking lot for example.

  • This is a good idea in general, however this doesn’t help when it comes to getting the first interest, because how can you tell if someone is really genuine about caring from a few words on a profile?

But yeah, my girlfriend wanted to start dating me not because I am the most attractive person, but because I am always nice to her and to people in general. To me it seems crazy to not be, but I guess not everyone is like that.
