How do you prevent mosquitoes
Oh shit i didn’t know it was a whole series
This reminds me of West of Loathing
Isn’t that exactly what APIs are for though?
What legal grounds could google possibly have to prevent this
This would be a hilarious thought to go viral. Like imagine so many people repeating that he doesn’t know how to ride a bike that it would get to the point that he would hold a special media conference just to prove otherwise. But in typical fashion, there would be something really weird about it that would still cast doubt over whether he actually could ride a bike or if it was somehow faked.
🤣 exactly! Like, way to show your bias there folks
Kind of a shit article. Refers to the candidate as a “failed rapper”, calls ranked choice voting a “confusing system” but I suppose it’s at least getting the word out
Which is crazy because like… you think they would have heard of linux before
No, but it is an extremely common replacement for regular sugar, so common as to be near unavoidable.
THE BROODWICH CANNOT BE TAKEN APART OR DISASSEMBLED
Obligatory reminder that saying the USPS has “struggled financially in recent years” is straight up sanewashing misinformation. They used to be one of the only public services to actually be profitable (not that i think that should matter; government shouldn’t have any kind of profit motive) and the only reason they aren’t technically still is because Republicans have been trying to privatize and ratfuck USPS for decades. A few years ago they passed a law requiring the USPS to fully fund retirement pensions for the next like 70 years, thus on paper the service now looks like it’s in the red.
Yeah, as a fan of red ales, i don’t drink beer much anymore…
Can’t believe no one has mentioned this yet but my big one is physics in microgravity. There are some that do it well (like obv Apollo 13 given how they filmed it, and The Expanse is usually pretty good about it too) and plenty that it doesn’t really matter but there’s a bunch of movies and tv shows that hang major plot points on poorly thought out physics. The worst offender imo was ironically the movie Gravity, where a major character dies because apparently when two people are tethered to each other in zero-g and the line goes taut they don’t just bounce back towards each other, oh no, because there’s an extra special force that keeps pulling on the futher person so he has to make some dramatic self sacrifice. I was so sad because that movie looked really amazing from a cinematography perspective and obviously a lot of people loved it regardless but i just couldn’t get past how dumb that and a few other scenes were.
Oh sorry i thought you were meaning to imply it’d be too difficult; I see now.
Nah it’s not that kind of game. I’m currently playing with my partner and she isn’t the biggest gamer and so far she’s only had a little difficulty at certain parts. These games are designed very well to be able to cater to those with lots experience.
Love this video and have forced it on many of my friends. It’s a straight up documentary and it’s so interesting to me.
Well it also could be because waymo is owned by Alphabet (Google’s parent company) and the side against ICE is also going to be generally against megacorps that are actively trying to sprint towards technofacism. But honestly I doubt that much thought went in to it. People are angry for a million different reasons in this country right now, and at a protest like this that is spontaneous (as opposed to organized/planned) that anger is bound to manifest in ways that aren’t always the most productive to the cause. That’s just human nature imo. Emotions aren’t always rational. And sure, it’s definitely possible this was an opportunist just looking for an excuse to be destructive, or even planted fed agitators like others have said, but if you ask me it’s just as likely it’s just some pissed off people who are just saying to themselves “fuck it, the government wants to fuck our shit up? Well then i guess we can fuck shit up too.”
Editing to add: It can be hard to put yourself in their shoes if you’ve never been to a protest that got a little ugly, because you might imagine yourself in the same state of mind you are in as you’re just like sitting at home or wherever reading this thread. But likely these fire starters have also already been tear gassed, shoved around by cops, corraled like animals, flashbanged, had rubber bullets shot at them, and all after watching fascist federal agents come in to their community and effectively dissappear people who are some of the most vulnerable among them. Maybe even close friends or family. It’s honestly surprising how many are still able to maintain their cool enough to be peaceful after suffering all of that.
