Feels like a lot of users there are more for the performative changes (Oooh look I bought a pair of adidas trainers & an off brand cola) rather than actually steering away from major US owned services such as FB, Insta, Reddit

Yorkshire tea is the GOAT. Happy to see it has fans outside the UK

Same. So much focus is going towards moving people from tech giants, which are important, but so much harder to move away from. Smaller things like this still make a difference and are far more easier for people to switch from than say, youtube for example.

I’ve been with tuta using a custom domain for a couple years now. Started switching most my services away from Google et al for pro privacy reasons a long time ago. It just so happens that these kind of decisions end up with the same results as moving to EU based solutions.
I feel like for most people their email account is just somewhere their emails go. And trust me there are plenty of options out there. If Google Calendar etc is something that your missing, then look for a alternative calendar service rather than an email service.
Its the only OS option that could farm engagement, as no one would react to him using windows or mac

Hopefully people actually make the switch though. Weve got plenty of alternatives to many big US tech services, but a lot of them simply suffer due to lack of userbase. Even things which dont require other active users (i.e non social media type services) suffer because people tend to go for what they know and what their friends have, regardless of any other options.

A good story isn’t something groundbreaking that marketing teams can slap on the box in the same way they can with ray tracing dlss or whatever else I guess

Linux is the backbone of large portions of the internet so tonnes of money is poured into it. Althought Linux has a niche userbase for home PCs it is often the default choice for servers & development.

I didn’t think leopards would eat my face

There’s nothing skinny about him. He’s regular fat

Weeblsstuff.
Been playing REPO too. I think its a better ‘game’ than Lethal Company, but Lethal Company shines more in the horror comedy area. Only issue with that is a lot of the comedy around the scares wears off as you play more and start to understand what monsters you need to fear and which you dont etc, then for me lethal company becomes a bit of a walking sim.
Repo doesn’t rely on scares as much & also has a much shorter route to walk to from cashout so you can spend more time playing and less time waiting for your stamina to reload so you can move more than 1 ft per second.
I may get bored of it at some point but I’ve had more enjoyable playtime so far than I did with lethal company.
