4·1 month agoPIP is not a means tested benefit and nor should it be. People who are disabled and qualify for the enhanced rate for mobility face additional costs to get around that abled bodied people do not. It is about equity for disabled people, it is not fair that someone who is disabled through no fault of their own faces a higher cost of living, and that is what PIP addresses.
ScreamingFirehawk@feddit.uktoDisability UK@feddit.uk•'Premium' cars like BMW and Mercedes cut from Motability scheme
6·1 month agoThe “premium” cars don’t cost the taxpayer any more money than the econoboxes. They are partially paid for with the enhanced mobility rate of PIP and the shortfall has to be covered by the individual.
This is literally just saying that if you are disabled, you don’t deserve nice things.

No I didn’t get any full on hallucinations, just light visual patterns. I don’t know if it’s actually pretty tame or if the dosage required to actually trip on it is massive.
I took 100mg of diphenhydramine marketed as a sleep aid when I was really struggling to sleep for days. I still didn’t sleep, but I felt as relaxed as a diazepam would make me and I had some very minor visuals so that was nice at least.

When I’ve heard about “micro retirements” before, it’s been in the context of taking months long sabbaticals, not a regular amount of paid time off to take in a single block

2·7 months agoPeople who are against trans women sharing spaces with cis women often use the argument that anyone could put on a dress, say they are a woman and enter the space with malicious intent. If trans men are able to use those same space with cis women, then malicious cis men don’t even need to put on a disguise.
The argument isn’t sound in the first place, but I honestly don’t think it even occurs to them that trans men exist.

You don’t, American toilets are weird and siphon the bowl out before filling it with water. The better design dumps water into the bowl from the cistern and flushes everything through.

Yes, except just like human children, they are often just treated as difficult or badly behaved by adults who do not understand that they are autistic.
