The online safety act requiring ID, police showing up at old people’s houses for their Facebook/twitter posts, or that one time someone suggested they would try to extradite Americans for the same thing. Where is this coming from all of a sudden?

I dealt with something similar with Discord once. It was infuriating. These companies often contract out this type of responsibility, and nobody has any incentive to care or spend any time with any individual case, so you can just be completely cut off.

I’m mostly jealous about being able to lie down and watch TV without having to worry about smashing my glasses.

I was watching something from the late 60s the other day, and there was a line by a young actress explaining that young people don’t think there will be a future for them and are living accordingly.

It was the exact same sentiment you would expect to see while doom-scrolling today.

I showed it to my wife and she laughed a bit too hard at the “devoid of colour sense” part.

I like to think that someone knew and assumed that nobody would ever pause the show and count.

A lot of the conversations we have today are the same that people have been having for generations. It still seems anachronistic to read sometimes though.
