Nah not really. It’s well thought out and all that but it just seems kind of “clinical” to me. I like a lot of grit (cormac McCarthy is my favorite author), so I lean more towards Abercrombie or mark lawrence.

Steven Erikson is another I wish I could get into but I find myself rereading the same stuff over and over until ultimately giving up.

It’s a shame I don’t find Sanderson books all that interesting because that guy puts out books like a Gatling gun.

I wouldn’t have agreed with you a week ago but I think you’re right. I live in Loudoun county Virginia which is quite blue. My oldest kid who is 15 asked me if I was really voting for Harris, because he and his friends like Trump more. Then my second oldest who is 11 also told me he likes Trump more than Harris.

My family is Dutch Canadian so it’s not like anyone in my family was speaking positively about Trump. Quite the opposite actually.

They are getting all these ideas online and conservatives are absolutely crushing the digital landscape with podcasts and YouTube. They are making connections with the youth that the dems just aren’t offering right now.

Most my friends are republicans so we shit talk a lot back and forth. After the election we will just shit talk about something else. Yes we are over 40 and still act like teenagers.

My main concern right now is that my two oldest kids are asking me why I’m voting for Harris lol.

This absolutely happens in real life. Guy I worked with was at a large telecom company that liquidated in the 2000s. Dude was high up and had a beach house… you know, rich people stuff.

After the 2000s recession he had major trouble getting hired because he earned too much before and potential employers would think he would leave if they gave him a lower offer.

He ended up working for me building hydroponic farms for about a year making shit pay.
