No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do some people say "I wouldn't want a government to dictate what I eat"? This would mean they'd be against food safety regulations, would it not? Context was the idea of a government banning meatEnglish

7·7 months agoConsidering the solar system is rotating around the center of the Milky Way at ~450,000 miles per hour, 50 years would have you some 197 billion miles from Earth. This is about 13x the current distance of Voyager 1 (15.6 billion miles).

22·7 months ago“At will” is the employment one regarding being able to be terminated without cause (as long as it’s not for a protected reason). “Right to work” is the one about not being required to join a union. But still, your point is valid.
They’re likely all getting their buns (and everything else) from Sysco anyways, so I can’t imagine different sized buns would be that hard to source.
I make no comment about the merit of your argument either way, but hot damn you love to see the passion!
Um… unfortunately, that doesn’t work, either. ::facepalm::
The ACA wasn’t “watered down in the name of bipartisanship”. The public option was removed because that’s the only way Joe Lieberman, the 60th vote in the Senate, would vote for it. And yes, what initially came out of committee was not as progressive as we wanted, but if Lieberman wasn’t even going to vote for that, there was no way he was going to vote for M4A.

13·8 months agoEven if the global birth rate dropped to ~1.75 kids per woman (currently it’s around 2.3), it would still take over 150 years for the world population to fall to half its current level. We are in no danger of humans becoming endangered, except by our own hands. I believe this is 100% related to him being an asshole.

This is how I find out…
