I can’t specifically speak to watering golf courses as I’m not a golfsman (or whatever they’re called) but as far as washing floors and flushing toilets? In the west yes that is precious drinking water.

As you say you’re familiar with how the system works so you understand that it is far cheaper to have one system of infrastructure to deliver water and have all of that water be drinkable rather than have two sets of pipes where one delivers non-potable water for washing and flushing and one for just drinking water.

Is it wasteful to wash and flush with drinking water? Yeah maybe. Is it also wasteful to maintain two sets of infrastructure just to save drinking water? Also yes

I second this one especially for making soap with “manly” smells. I’m not into it (I have enough other hobbies) but my brother is and every other year I have him make me a big batch of pine tar soap. That’s about as manly of a smell as one can get.

If you go that route just make sure you use the good Stockholm tar not the cheap stuff for horses, it’s not that much more expensive but it’s worth it

You are absolutely right that they are slow and require a high degree of training, competence, and accuracy to be a viable option for home/personal defense. There are absolutely better options for firearms that one could and should use but that wasn’t the point I was trying to make which was if you lack anything else then a hunting rifle is better than nothing unless you are a very skilled martial artist

To echo what is said in the Paul Harrell videos posted, the best rifle to defend yourself/ your family/ your home with is the one you have.

If that happens to be the hunting rifle that you inherited from your grand dad then so be it. What’s important is that you are know how it works, have ammunition for it, and have shot it more than once. Hope this was helpful!
