I’m also glad you reached the point I wanted to make, that people like me become extremely cynical when unions are brought up as a solution because even with digital access we’re still seen as second class members. they’re not gonna invest as many resources in the digital meetings because there’s no incentive to
amino@lemmy.blahaj.zonetoMicroblog Memes@lemmy.world•"Never forget" x "It's over, get back to normal"English11·11 days agoOK, let’s say I’m disabled and I wanna partake in said democracy. I show up to the union meeting and everyone is unmasked, there’s no air filtration or ventilation. am I just supposed to put myself at risk of infection until the union members get their shit together? that might take months to years during which I can’t afford to be repeatedly reinfected.
this is not hypothetical, I’ve been part of multiple leftist spaces where my only options are to leave or to put myself at risk of harassment when I hand everyone N95s because I’m being “pushy”.

in industrialized countries maybe
you have to consider whether the points you make reflect the reality of billions of people on earth. i don’t know what’s so hard about it
keep in mind that 40% of the global population doesn’t own a smartphone.
that’s billions of people that you’re leaving out of your analysis which doesn’t sound very fair to them. you don’t understand poverty because you’re assuming your living conditions will be the same as theirs.
wrong, you’re just too much of a coward to make shitty art and say it’s yours. it’s a hurdle that all of us had to get over
why are you assuming that someone who wants to make art would have a phone anyway? some people are poor
