Digital Art@lemmy.world•Atticus - Character sketch from a recent Barbians of Lemuria campaign
3·17 days agoThat’s no coincidence. Metalocalypse just dropped the whole season 1 on youtube and while watching I realized that my friend’s game character bears a resemblance.
An ancient Wacom Intuos 3. Still works pretty well… the only thing I haven’t figured out yet is how to map the 2 touch slider pads to something like opacity.

5·18 days agoI wouldn’t say that in earshot of Atticus. He may not know what a yeti is, but he’s likely to take offense.

3·20 days agoThat’s exactly what I based my character on, glad to hear it’s a good likeness.
Is this beautiful data? It’s pretty unreadable.
Thank you both, I’m starting to get it.
Thank you! I’ll start there and check that I can easily access the logs.
I’ll give it a look. No real reason for fail2ban specifically, it’s just often mentioned as an easy process for beginners.
I’m still not sure what this means. Run fail2ban on the router or on each VM? Caddy does have a fail2ban module if it makes more sense to run there?

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Three questions about California AB1043 C. 675
2·2 months agoIt could certainly be written better to more clearly state this, but I believe the intent is to only limit the data requested and stored for the purpose of age verification. This should not impact data collected or retained for other purposes.

2·3 months agoYou’ve probably already discovered it, but Q Hayashida has a newish manga series out called Dai Dark that scratches the same itch.

Anime@ani.social•[Discussion] What's the best horror anime you've watched?English
11·3 months agoWhile we could always argue over what is horror vs something with horror elements, I think these are some of my faves:
- Dorohedoro… love the manga, the Netflix anime is just okay
- Monster
- Vampire Hunter D
- Memories
- Parasite
- Berserk
- Demon City Shinjuku

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•Waymo admits that its autopilot is often just guys from the Philippines
622·3 months agoThis article doesn’t really say anything new or alarming. Already knew that remote humans could take control of the vehicle if the AI got stuck. There’s no data here describing how often humans are intervening, so the only thing this is trying to get you angry about is the fact Waymo is using more foreign workers than previously thought.
Mauricio Peña, recently noted that when the company’s robotaxis encounter unusual situations, they may switch control to the remote drivers. While some of the contractors work in the US, many operate from other countries, such as the Philippines.
That’s really good to hear! This is a game I’ve been hoping to run for a while now, and there are some games that just don’t play well without a TT of some sort. Thanks!

Seattle@lemmy.world•WA Gov. Ferguson & AG Brown press conference on Minneapolis unrest and WA preparedness, Jan 26 2026English
7·3 months agoIt’s probably the fact that the governor and AG are both passing the ball to the local PD and sheriffs, and we have a good idea of what they’ll decide. These 2 probably could have done more to get a stance from local law enforcement before this press conference so they weren’t just standing around shrugging their shoulders about what could be done.

Once you’re aware of the concept of Chekhov’s gun, you start to instinctively spot devices that are meant to be called back later in the script and subconsciously anticipate them, making it a Pavlov-Chekhov gun.
But if the initial introduction of the Pavlov-Chekhov gun is too forced/obvious, you might feel compelled to turn off such a predictable movie before the device is recalled and you’ll never know if it was actually brought back. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t, maybe it exists in an unobserved quantum state… a Schrödinger-Pavlov-Chekhov gun.
