A year ago. It took about 9 months to find something which was a good value proposition beyond just being a home to live in, and my wife wasn’t ready to move before that.
Just as a real example, 70-80k/year is very feasible in the Philadelphia area. I saved up around 90k across a decade (with a worse income…) and bought a place for slightly over 350k. The thing is you NEED that initial down payment amount to make those numbers work, PMI with less than a conventionally mortgage down payment is a debt trap. Most people aren’t financially literate, and people with large amounts of capital take advantage of that in the lending and real estate industries.
If you can settle or pool resources this all gets easier, and if you have disabilities or make poor financial decisions it becomes impossible and you rent trap yourself. Renting still makes more sense for people with jobs that move around, though.

4·2 months agoThe problem is that he did, in that moment, and then media and people walked it back and minimized it for 3.5 years until by the time everyone voted again, well, he didn’t go to prison so maybe they made it up or it wasn’t so bad? See also: his felonies were “political”.
Truth is that most Americans are so busy living or surviving that they don’t go learn or seek out different views to become more well-rounded. Propaganda works.

3·4 months agoI totally agree. Only mentioned the connection because that might be the motivation OP had to look into this or make this post.
Regarding Stephen Miller, though, or more broadly any child of people who undergo traumatic events, suffering often begets more suffering. That’s why we have so many quips like “hurt people hurt people”. It may be that his views are a rebellion against his family’s for one reason or another.
Also nothing changes that he’s a piece of shit, but y’know.

74·4 months agoRead through as well, it does seem like OP is wrong. Can’t assume all anti-Communists are Nazis, and the records that do exist don’t put him in suspicious places for the timeline. I can understand the desire to make connections to explain his son’s views, though.
In this case, the hierarchy you’ve submitted to is the employer’s, rather than the boss. You can have successful hierarchies that promote good management, too. Not very common, though.

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK De-banking is often how the US first declares you "homeless"
1·5 months agoWorks just fine, just make sure you do your mail forward with the paper form, keep your payments current, and do the verification of the forward in person as is required. Fwiw you can use any address you have access to to start the PO box or other accounts as well, even if you won’t have that access for long. Source: I do mail
The good news is that your post isn’t really something you have to worry about(social media is propagandizing this), it’s only going to impact state funded housing for people and aim to funnel money to private prison contractors for any homeless people who assault ICE or w/e other federal agents. The bad news is that its rooted in hate and going to damage section 8 housing access, generally making people poorer/more worse off in the long run.

2·5 months ago- use an address you can access for at least a week
- get your initial documents
- go paperless and have the mail all RTS
Job done, nobody will bother you and you can use electronic statements as proof for accounts. Just don’t commit fraud with them and nobody cares.

61·5 months agoHe’s not? The EO is theater, nothing changed but that. Nobody homeless is copping federal charges anyways unless they assault feds. The OP is also sensationalizing things, you can use a valid address and say you receive a bill at it to claim residence aka not homeless (even if you functionally are). I see it all the time. Often people stop paper bills and use electronic stuff as proof of residency.
Totally agree.
Having written supremely fucked up content doesn’t mean he has “known pedophilic tendencies”. People have made assumptions about authors who wrote all forms of horror or produced other media because they are repulsed by the content of the media. As an example, Rob Zombie has made films about mass murder, rape, incest, and the guy is a friendly vegan.
Without knowing his intent, I think this is an example of poor phrasing. If anything that’s supported by his later tweet:
Did Epstein traffic young girl(sic)? Yes, of course. Is there a client list? Doubtful. Conspiracy fodder.
For sure, but he doesn’t exactly have to care if people read their own meaning into it instead of what he originally intended. I think it’s telling where people’s biases are if they assume he’s a pedophile for a tweet like this. It’s way more important to go after the real ones than the people who fail one person’s personal purity test.
