Brimg back double-clicking on the top left corner of a program to close it.
What OS was this on? Not sure it’s ever been a feature of Windows as far as I know. What’s the benefit of doing this vs just single clicking on the X button?

For a moment I genuinely thought that this was a photo from my parents living room from back in the day. I loved having these up in our living room at Christmas!
Still recovering from this flu. Had a couple of days where it wiped me out again and had to call in sick two weeks after the initial fever stage. Now stuck with a cough and sniffly nose!
Dad is still in hospital but is getting much better. He’s mentally a lot better too, I think him being around people all the time is doing him a lot of good. He even said he doesn’t want to be discharged home which is an enormous 180 for home, he’s been incredibly stubborn about staying in his house. I think the message is starting to get through that he’s in no state to live in his own. Social services are keen to send him back home though as there’s no available space in rehabilitation (for his poor mobility).
Kids are excited for Christmas which is nice! I just miss that excitement myself, now it’s just a stressful time with trying to organise everything and make sure the day goes smoothly!
My mate is back from the Netherlands visiting his parents for a bit so looking forward to grabbing a few pints with him in our usual decent pub!
I’ve completely checked out of work due to the time off I’ve had due to being sick. Just 1.5 days left!

Same for saying “the only good nazi is a dead nazi”

This makes no sense to me what so ever. Why do any apps care about where the taskbar is? How’s it any different when a window isn’t maximised and the user resizes it? Either I’m seriously misunderstanding this or it’s a completely made up excuse.
I’d rather they just say “we completely rewrote the taskbar, but we know that less than 0.01% of users move their taskbar so we didn’t prioritize it”.
To me the bigger issue with the taskbar is that you can’t make it compact. Instead it has to be a big chunky mess.
Primarily Spotify, mixed in with SoundCloud and YouTube for live sets.

Thunderbirds was my favourite show growing up! Fortunately it was on BBC2 I on a Tuesday evening… I think?
The flu is generally speaking borderline debilitating.
That’s not true. You can have the flu and have very mild symptoms. I had a high fever the other weekend and I was basically crashed out in bed for the weekend, and while the fever went away, everything else has remained. It seems like this strain seems to be hanging around on people for a lot longer.
Cheers pal. That doesn’t sound fun!
It’s kind of both - I would be tired from the poor sleep, but also just a general lack of overall energy. I can have broken sleep in the past and still feel energetic in the day.

What’s his obsession with hating Europe?
It’s been pretty stressful, not gonna lie! I was visiting him every day straight after work and also dealing with random messages he’d send during the day. Ended up picking up that flu that’s going around on Friday and was totally wiped out the entire weekend, recovered enough by Monday to work (I work from home) but yesterday I was wiped again so took the day off sick. I only managed to see him on Monday but due to being ill I haven’t had chance, and the number of requests from him for me have been rising.
My dad’s still in hospital but they’ve found the infection and he’s been feeling a lot better and mentally doing better too, and he’s having physio and OT sessions to help get him back on his feet, but his mobility was so bad before hand they might wonder if he’s safe to go back home on his own.
How are you finding having decaf coffee? It’s not something I’ve really done yet, but I think I have a good handle on my coffee intake, I’ll have two cups in the morning and then switch to tea until mid-afternoon.

Ah got you. I interpreted it as that larger vehicles are subject to slower speed limits.

I’m confused, you said the bigger the vehicle then the lower the speed limit in your original comment.

I tried reading The Handmaid’s Tale several years ago and struggled to get into it, I felt like it kept jumping around but it wasn’t immediately obvious right away. I think I ended up giving up about 25% the way through which I’ve never done with any book. I’d seen the show too which I thought would have helped. Maybe I’ll give it another go sometime.
I didn’t know these words were distinctly British.
What about knob? “He’s such a knob”, “Oi, knobhead!”

I’ve seen this happen with 24 - seeing camera crews and other people in certain shots.

When I rented a flat nearly 10 years ago, we had to get a wireless broadband solution as the local area hadn’t got any decent broadband installed yet (despite being a brand new village between two towns), however to install it they needed to drill through the entire wall. To do that I needed the landlords permission, but it turns out it was owned by someone (or an entity) in China and the estate agent couldn’t get ahold of them, so I said fuck it and just said yes they can go ahead and do it.
I usually do our food shop online, however I plan the meals and write down everything we need for the week. If I’m going to the shop then I’ll write the list down in the order I’ll move through the shop so that i can just work my way down through the list.
