did you read it? apple throttled device performance. google is throttling charging speed and battery capacity for safety reasons. there are literally phones melting. also, battery capacity is something people assume will go down over time. also they’re giving clear notifications when people are affected.
it’s not really the same, and definitely not worse
it doesn’t matter how it was made once it’s secondhand since it doesn’t support the manufacturer
I suppose there’s people that bought the original item since it had resale value, but I really doubt that’s significant overall, especially at most thrift stores
probably about the same as like vapor smoothing abs with acetone. I think pla has solvents that work too but they’re much nastier
on one hand I agree. on the other, google has historically been afraid of the verb to google becoming generic, so of course I’d like to see that happen.
I think the middle ground is say google it, but make it clear you mean google it on an alternative search engine
I assume that’s just the actual vegetable, Google translate says that’s correct

there’s also a ton of extra space once you remove the hdd, it could be mostly battery

I don’t think I like it, but there is an argument that kids without phones will be ostracized, or students will be expected to have access to phones in school, etc.
I know even in like 2012 or so some high school classes were expecting students to have phones for quick research and such. I wouldn’t be surprised if that type of thing was moving into lower grades
I find it useful since I’m normally turning it off to prevent it from connecting to something right now (speakers so someone else can connect etc), and I never have to think about turning it back on
