That is true and a large part of why I do love how linux mostly has stayed the same for 20 years in its basic form. I was able to apply a lot of the things I had remembered from years ago when I used it briefly.

Genesis music is of its own genre. So good

I made a post about thia exact thing a couple of weeks ago! I will give my money to people not using ai bullshit, and if theyre liars, they wont see a cent from me again. People need to stand up and have some damn principles about this.

A new Ecco game?? Yess. Love the genesis versions

There’s really no problem with it, someone with kids isnt going to care about anything that doesn’t directly affect them (simple biology i guess) but it doesn’t make for an informed voter or community member.

Fellow project car and house enthusiast here!!
I sometimes forget others dont have these massive time sucks and can afford to troubleshoot for hours. I cant! Even though its kind of fun, I have shit to do.

Awesome!

Na sorry, hes right.
For someone who doesn’t spend every moment on their pc, its daunting and takes energy to learn and remember all of this just to make your pc run.

Not really, just because something is old doesn’t mean its bad. We dont want to lose handwriting as a society when all of our devices are dumb terminals linked to bezosnet and youre not allowed to type anything bad about Dear Leader.

Not really. Other than possibly being bad for our eyes but then again are books great for eyes either ?

Don’t your eyes or back get tired ? I cant sit that long

GWAR!

The crew is great, I agree!
Its just frustrating having to search how to do something so simple while bob on windows 11 just presses his volume button to get sound working. Makes me feel like wasting time on linux is stupid. But I enjoy using it. It just takes a lot of time and sometimes I ask why am I even doing this.

While this is very helpful and I do understand the general operation of things, i still dont have a way to find that specific command.
For example, brightness through terminal, I have no idea what that command is. Or how I’d figure it out without a web search.

I mean maybe my tone came off a little butt head ish, I was also just kind of thinking of everyone saying “switch to linux!” And in my head im thinking of my tech illiterate friends and family and how I have to look stuff up all the time, linux really isnt ready for the masses in a lot of cases

How do you search these to find relevant topics?
Example, “audio output”

I do take notes just in the stock notepad program.
No I do enjoy messing around. My main desktop has mint and its been a good mix of gui and terminal stuff to get it to do what I need. Really no issues except vr which is stupid oculus fault anyway.
I just dont know where to start or how to apply things ive learned from some of the site others have posted. I couldn’t ever do this with math either so it’s probably just a learning disability. Once something gets complex my brain refuses to continue processing.
I just would like some stuff to be a little more straightforward. Such as, seeing what programs are actually installed. This is ridiculously harder than it needs to be unfortunately. I also have to help the SO with these issues and I usually just end up having to look it up and go well I guess linux does this differently, that sucks. Or seeing what program is being used for audio- i dont know where to even start for that because I cant come up with a command out of the blue.
My wired headphones dont have this issue, likely sound far better, require no batteries, and are user serviceable.
Guys, we peaked in 2012 (potentially earlier) as a race technologically, stop trying to create new grifts for billionaires.
