Even though it’s an old game, Tachyon The Fringe is a great space shooter, it’s available on GOG and well worth it.

I tried it with a 4 bay USB 3.2 chassis over USC-C using zfs raidz, constantly had issues with the array just dying and needing to bring it back online manually many times per day. It never got better and latency was an issue too.
Move all drives to a single 8 port pcie card and it worked without issue for years.
Not worth the hassle and expense.

2·5 months agoIf any one of the games are banned in your country, you will get an error.
This page lists what’s banned where: https://support.gog.com/hc/articles/29306002386845
Two of the games were banned in my country, so a quick VPN to the Netherlands and the “purchase” went through.
I did log a support ticket with GOG and they referred me to the KB article above.

79·7 months agoI have a cheap plastic hair brush my mum bought me over 40 years ago when I was about 6 or 7, she said it cost a dollar and surprised I still use it daily.
There is nothing wrong with it, so it lives on.

4·9 months agoI only had to suffer through the ending, still makes me mad.
The story, if anyone is bored…
I was on a work retreat/hack-a-thon and the final episode was being broadcast that night. I’d tried and failed to find any part of game of thrones interesting in the past, I’d never seen a complete episode.
Everyone is there glued to the TV, I’m at the dinning room table trying to get some kind of work done, but ended up watching most of the episode.
What a massive pile of crap I thought to myself, no idea what these people are on about.
I’m glad everyone agreed it sucked, but really annoyed that is the only episode I’ve seen, and I will never waste my time on it.

And other public safety nets to prevent people dying.

And nor should they, never give in to bullies.
