It still confuses and amazes me that some communists seem to like Putin, let alone tolerate him.
It still confuses and amazes me that some communists seem to like Putin, let alone tolerate him.
Yeah, you should.
You didn’t say any of this until after I heavily criticized you, and you can’t blame me when you seemed to be apologizing for one of the worst dictators. Your gaslighting isn’t helping you.
Wouldn’t them kowtowing to Putin make them less likely to be raided, in their eyes?
Though I suppose it’s a double-edged sword kind of thing.
Very imperfect implies there were redeemable aspects or traits.
Very imperfect? He was a horribly evil piece of shit, and while I hate to use language that might seem even percent 1 slightly ableist, he was a complete lunatic, and that’s coming from someone on the autistic spectrum.
He did some good by nationalizing over 200 Br"i "tish corporations, and selling guns to certain communist movements, but that doesn’t negate the proven horrific atrocities and stupidity of himself, his policies, or his government, or his selfishness.
He was a fucking horrible and evil piece of shit and a complete nutjob dictator responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people, and I’m pretty sure he suppressed communists and revolutionary movements.
I’m also pretty sure that he only helped the USSR and USSR-affiliated communist movements, because he received money from selling them guns, and he was a thorn in Britain’s side.
He was a two-faced douchebag, and he only somewhat came to his senses after the damage had been done, and only because consequences caught up to him.
Same here.
I think Putin gets a metric-shit ton of bad rep for stuff that isn’t his fault or isn’t exclusively his fault, and he has done alot of genuinely good things for his country that people don’t talk about much.
But I also hold the opinion that regardless of him constantly being slandered and demonized by the western mainstream global capitalist news media, he is a still a fucking horrible, manipulative reich-wing dictator who belongs in prison or in the ground, and he isn’t a good person or an ally, just a tool.
I have serious problems with how alot of Russian communists seem to be socially reich-wing, but I understand that some of that could be just trying to survive in the bourgeois Russian regime.
But yes, Russia’s communists are the main “good guys” here.
I remember that first incident, it was funny AF.
I was hoping there would be more funny ones, but yeah, all of this checks out.
I’m not necessarily doubting you, but I feel like you have some examples of Putin being rude and disrespectful during diplomatic meetings, and I’d love to see them.
Of course not.
Edit: I mean of course there are no excuses. I’d like to think that maybe Russia only invited Israel to talk down to them, but I think that’s extremely wishful thinking and unlikely.
I don’t like this, but I’ve also read that Russia invites countries to it’s Victory Day Parades as a pseudo-summit for political purposes.
While I understand your cause for concern for someone comparing real-life existential danger to a piece of fiction, people are naturally going to compare real-life shit, to what they know best.
That’s beautifully put, genuinely.
I get the sense that despite all the hardship, was there a sense of camaraderie, unity, and love and togetherness and stuff, among your family and Chinese people in general?
What was that time like?
While I strongly believe in rehabilitation, I think that convicted pedophiles/rapists should be put down. I’m not sure if I want would it to be the case for every single one, but it should be on the table.
I think that everyone should have the right to own a gun for self-defense purposes. At least, ideally.
I guess in a vacuum, I can understand that proper documentation could be required in order to vote. But only in a socialist society, and only when the state guarantees everyone can access their own documents freely and like candy.
I understand the sentiment in your view, but I politely implore you to think of all the people and scientific advancement that A.I. is already helping.
There have been numerous cases of researchers using A.I., and the A.I. discovers numerous treatments for many types of diseases/illnesses, like types of cancer.
Or the A.I. come sup with new types of steel and building materials, that actually work.
I think that’s an excellent and accurate explanation, and that’s the conclusion I have arrived to as well.
I don’t view accepting the cases of sexual abuse as being anywhere equivalent to Qanon. It doesn’t make Qanon valid at all. And I agree that people have an unfortunate tendency to normalize non-ritualistic abuse of children, and I’m very aware that the vast majority of the time, abuse is committed by someone very close or close to the victim, rather than strangers or cults.
I’m not saying any of this in a “Hillary Clinton and comet ping pong codeword pizza!” type of shit, and I don’t think that every accusation during the Satanic Panic was true, but I think a huge percentage of them were, and the bourgeois state just swept them under the rug.
I stress that regardless, all children and human beings, and life/sentient life in general, deserve protection from abuse of any and all kinds.
And in alot of these cases, the authorities somewhat openly admitted to burying evidence.
And no, I don’t discriminate against Satanists or religious people in general.
I’ve read that he was somewhat of a dick towards sub-saharan southern African countries, but that could have just been a misunderstanding/slander.
I’ve also read that he supposedly financed one or more armies of fundamentalists that would often rape civilians, or that he allegedly had a dungeon where he would sexually assault women, but I’m 99 percent sure that both of those claims are neoliberal horseshit.
What I DO know, is that he was a brilliant man and a motherfucking titan of a person. A true badass.
He greatly took after Mao, and was “friendly”-ish with the USSR and I think China.
He helped fight the Eurocrakkker colonizers in Africa.
While I mostly agree that “great man theory” is horseshit, I don’t think anyone can deny that he was a true titan of a person.
Liberated Libya from a U.S. backed dictator, instituted a form of socialism (even though Libya was more secular than neighboring countries, I don’t like that Libya supposedly had an Islamist bent to it. I don’t mean in culture/society, I mean like the law) but besides that, Libya under his ba’athist leadership seemed like it had a lot in common with the Soviet Union.
Local democracy and democratic control of the means of production, with the guiding hand of the state preventing capitalist overreach, and very high living standards for a continent ravaged by imperialism for centuries, and he helped fund numerous national liberation and socialist groups and revolutionaries.
This motherfucker built a whole ass aquifer that crakkkers said was impossible to build, until it was destroyed by NATO, unfortunately.
I like to think of Gaddafi as being like Libya’s/Africa’s Fidel Castro. A larger than life gentle giant.
My one major complaint, is that I think that he gave up Libya’s nuclear weapons way too easily.
I understand that the west had their boot on Libya’s throat, and having millions and millions of people and many countries and movements depending on him would likely cause any person to have serious psychological/mental stress on them, coupled with lessening of sanctions, I understand why he did it.
I know I’m rambling, but I feel a slight attachment to Gaddafi because he reminds me so much of my grandfather.
And it’s fucking horrible and anger-inducing that he was overthrown, tortured and murdered by Libyan gusano terrorist NATO-financed nutjobs.
May he rest in power. Africa and the world isn’t the same, without him.
