I came here to say the same.
I think it’s maybe not for everyone nor suitable for every project. But I think it’s a cool idea and maybe i will use it for rather conservative projects.

If I remember correctly, wood consists mainly of cellulose, lignin, and hemi-cellulose. I don’t know about bamboo, but I guess it’s some kind of woody material.
“Trees” have secondary growth while “palms” have primary growth. At least that is what I have been told in dendrology lectures.
I use brew ratio for finetuning: when I think my coffee is just a tiny bit too bitter, I would decrease output by maybe 1 - 2 grams. When I think, the effect is too little, I would grind a little coarser instead.
