Sadly, I’ve seen it aimed at pretty much anyone who’s of a different race. I don’t know how Canada compares to other countries that way, but I’ve definitely seen way too much of it in Canada.

I’m Canadian and have known some very racist Canadians. In fact, the most racist man I ever knew was a Canadian. Far as I can tell, racism is everywhere and always an ignorant thing.

There’s a season for everything, even for evil, but it won’t last forever.

Do you think an infant knows right from wrong? I don’t… and I work my way out from there, looking for that same innocence in others. As to your friend or anyone else, I can’t answer for people I don’t personally know… even when I do know people, I still can’t always answer for them.

The way I see it, the only truly innocent people are those who sincerely do not know right from wrong, and they’re mostly children. The rest of us are each and all responsible for our choices and actions.

When I was younger, I would have argued till I was blue in the face. I’ve since learned to choose my battles and not waste my time and energy on battles I know I can’t win… so I’d leave it alone as much as they allowed it, and eventually refuse to discuss it at all if needed.

If things keep going the way they have been, they might regret not speaking up while they were still able/allowed to. Seems some things are just too big for some people to deal with, till it smacks them in the face one day and they have no choice anymore.

You could be right, maybe I’m wrong… but maybe not. About religion, do you not find it odd that every American Pres since Kennedy has been found consulting with the pope concerning how to govern his own country, including those who’ve not been Catholics? Much of the world bows down to the pope and few seem to question it. I’d think atheists and people of other religions, even Protestants really, would kick up a fuss to see their leaders bowing down to this guy, but nope. There’s also the relationship and history between the RCC and Russia (something else I need to read up on).

I was looking for something that would click in my mind, like when you just know puzzle pieces fit together… and, no, I haven’t heard anything like that yet.

In his entire speech, he never mentions Russia in any form. Meanwhile, he does refer to some enemy in plural form, that is advancing from around the globe, i.e. “those who make themselves our enemy are advancing around the globe”, and “this nation’s foes”, etc. He also warned against religious involvement in politics in a different speech, which I think has gone mostly ignored at our own peril. People scoff at religion if they themselves aren’t religious, ignoring the fact that the leaders of the world are mostly very religious people (whether sincere in their religion or not). I mention this because I suspect these two were somehow connected in JFK’s mind.

For the sake of objectivity and truth, I’m trying to take into account my lack of any firsthand perspective. I just honestly cannot see how he was talking about the Soviet Union alone when I read what he said and how he said it. It honestly seems to me he had to be talking about something far greater.

I can see that… it would be an easy mistake for anyone to make. Still, there are an awful lot of coincidences between what he said, what we see in fact taking place today, and that he was ultimately assassinated. Because of all that, I can’t help but believe a lot of what he said.
