My friends initials are M.E.A.T

Oh wow, this was a favourite album of mine back in the day. Thanks for the memories!

Decorating the tree. We have ornaments from friends and family that have passed, places we’ve travelled to or lived, ones our daughter made, ones I made when I was a kid, really old ones from my parents trees when they were kids, beautiful handmade ones from friends. As we unwrap them and put them on the tree I get to think about all those memories and people I love. That is the spirit of Christmas to me.
We actually decorated the tree last night and later as I was trying to sleep (thanks insomnia!) I was thinking about all the people that I love that I can’t see now. Either from distance or political reasons, or they’ve passed on. It was sad but I also felt so loved and lucky that I had/have them in my life. I so so so hope that the US gets its shit together, a lot of my heart is scattered around down there.
I told my boss my mind is like a kinda broken bag of holding. Half the time you put your hand in you get the thought or memory you want, the other half is anyone’s guess. She said that explains a lot.
Oh wow, that takes me back to childhood. I loved reading the covers in the grocery store checkout line. Does the weekly world news still exist?? One sec… It does! Kinda. It’s just online now. That was a fun Wikipedia read.

It’s funny because I’m not a HHH by any stretch of the imagination! But man, this is a desert island album for me. I absolutely get what you mean about the outlaw feeling though.

A Grand Don’t Come For Free by The Streets. I love this album start to finish and it’s got a great story right through it.
First time I heard it I’d gotten an email from Vice promoting it and I clicked the link thinking it would just be the first 20 seconds of each song but it was the whole album! Was just starting a movie but I never watched it, just listened to the album straight through. So good.

I found a really nice horizontal loaf style machine at my local thrift store and the loaves come out just like regular store bought loaves. We also use it to knead and proof dough if we’re doing something that needs a different shape. It’s been a game changer for sure.

Bread guillotine gets the most use by far, but the toaster oven and bread machine would be next. Instant pot after that.

If you liked Station 11 you might like World Made By Hand, James Howard Kunstler. It’s one of my favourite books! Edit: it’s been a long time since I read it, so I was looking at the reviews and I will agree that the female characters are a bit one dimensional. What I really loved was the world building and stuff.
Also, I just finished The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern and LOVED it. Highly recommend! She also wrote The Night Circus which was also great.

Digital clocks might be easier for you, but not everyone. I chunk my time and looking at an analog clock helps me to visualize everything I’m going to be doing. I can’t do that with a digital clock. I will be the dinosaur clutching my analog clock when I’m old lol.

Ooh, I have the whole alphabet as a poster somewhere! Need to did that out and hang it up. Thanks for the reminder!
Well, deep down the east coast. But I live in the Salish Sea now and I’m not moving back to Maryland anytime soon, so I make do. It’s beautiful out here and I’m a hermit, it’s not so bad haha.
You know, as someone that’s live on both coasts for extended periods of time, that’s exactly right. I’ve never been able to explain it but that’s spot on. Thanks!!
Me too crow… me too.

My ex father in law built a cabin in northern Alberta with a very cozy sunken couch/seating area around the wood stove. Always wanted something like that. They weren’t swingers, though he did carve the most beautiful boob book ends. He was a wonderful guy.
That’s awesome, quite committed to a universal 1.50 hotdog. That’s the unity we’re gonna get these days I guess.
And it’s $1.50 in both the US and Canada! I never really paid attention and figured it would have the exchange but nope. I actually looked last week when I was there and it was $1.50.
I went to summer camp with a girl that was an extra in Godfather 3, Jacobs Ladder, and some other movies. She was awesome, we were pen pals for years after
Oh, and I worked in a bar with the wife of a B tier country music star. Whose name absolutely escapes me right now as I don’t listen to country music.
Edit!: I just remembered my best one. A local restaurant was featured on You Gotta Eat Here and I was one of the people interviewed for the show. Best part was our very small village had two very small newspapers at that time and I ended up on the cover of both that week!
