N/L are “reversed” on the UK BS1363 standard vs US/EU Earthed plugs. By having two sets of N/L you can ensure that they are always correctly wired.
This is often why some adaptors seem to be “upside down”
Most devices can handle N/L being swapped, though.

Likewise interested to know how they compare. I have a now ancient pair of QC 35 IIs and they were replaced under warranty from original QC35s - sadly the charging connector now has a fault where something in the circuitry stays active, the charging light stays on all the time and it drains the battery quite quickly compared to how it used to. It’s not the power switch. Just one board as a spare part is very expensive so I just live with reduced battery life.
I guess that’s the faults these should solve - if a replacement connector or board is sensibly priced then you’d fix them rather than having to manage as-is, or worse, recycling.
Some lines are being reopened slowly. It’s a little progress at least :)

Baking is a big one yes. Not just American recipes - old British ones too. And there are various useful estimations you can use too; one egg is about an ounce. Three ounces each of flour, sugar, butter plus three eggs makes a pretty good Victoria sponge which fits nicely in a 12cm baking tin.

I grew up being taught in both, but was told that metric was the future so not to worry too much about imperial, so I confuse the number of ounces in a pound quite often, amongst other things
Where I work, the vast majority of things are metric…except very old drawings, which sometimes use yards.
Honestly I would prefer we just switch to metric and stay there, but the road sign argument is “cost” and even 20 years ago that was quite valid.

I have random issues with youtube subtitles in general. I often watch foreign language videos, occasionally for learning. Except sometimes whilst they work in the video’s language, the translations don’t…until I reload the page, or quit the browser. Or on specific computers which never have issues. 🤷♂️
