Sim Rally & Racing@lemmy.world•This rally stage in BeamNG.Drive really takes every bit of concentration needed…
2·2 months agoI’m genuinely chuffed you gave it a go off the back of the video!!! I’m always averse to tarmac driving so I always stayed away from it. So I guess that makes sense as to why I manage gravel/mud better 😅
You’ve absolutely nailed it about the gamepad- being able to switch between full opposite lock instantly is a real advantage on gamepad- the equivalent action on a physical wheel is a little neck breaking 😂
From the point of 2:23 onwards, I guess I don’t full throttle because I actually have very very little force feedback through that tree section- and the angle of attack is so narrow that if you’re misaligned too much, it’s instant tree. Not that I’ve done that, at all, multiple times….
This car is all about feathering that throttle so you don’t lose the back end too much because yeah as you say, going sideways is hella fun but you lose a lot of time haha.
Thanks for sharing, as well- great to hear!

Technology@lemmy.world•Logitech CEO Hanneke Faber wants an AI agent in every board meetingEnglish
8·2 months agoFor controller sure, but bear in mind if you’re looking at something like a wheel with force feedback, and pedals with pressure sensitive response, that changes more than just button presses
Edit: to be clear I’m not defending the shit in this article in question. Just that some of the stuff they do may actually need a driver. But not everything…

Sim Rally & Racing@lemmy.world•ASSETTO CORSA RALLY ANNOUNCEMENT TRAILER
1·2 months agoTo be fair RBR has an insane amount of maps so it might be an unfair comparison 🤣 that’s said though, I really don’t like how a lot of RBR maps are really…flat and barren. Really breaks the immersion and sense of speed.

Sim Rally & Racing@lemmy.world•ASSETTO CORSA RALLY ANNOUNCEMENT TRAILER
2·2 months agoI really, REALLY have high hopes for this especially after EA abandoned WRC now. We desperately need a new leader in rally games that does modern graphics and accurately recreated cars.

Sim Rally & Racing@lemmy.world•This rally stage in BeamNG.Drive really takes every bit of concentration needed…
2·3 months agoHey, thank you for the nice comments! Honestly, I think I could shave off another 10 seconds, but 20 seconds seems like a lot. I could improve my cornering a lot, but I’m limited by the fact that it is RWD with an ungodly amount of wheel spin and power that kicks that back end out so easily.
When you try the course, comment back here how you got on! I’m intrigued to see how other people find it 🤣
Edit: wrote times wrong
I love this, approved. Considering making it the header image for the sub…

Sim Rally & Racing@lemmy.world•[AMS2] After several beers, I and a couple of friends try Automobilista 2's rallycross for the first time
3·3 months agoAh I should really try and get back into rallycross again. I played it a fair bit on Dirt Rally 2, but not tried it on EA WRC yet. I think what’s holding me back I want to get a sequential shifter before I get into that 😅
Edit: also the guy popping up on the bank at 0:24 mark is hilarious
Er, A&E nurse talking here. They are. They knowingly endanger other people. You can’t always guarantee clear streets. I still wake in the night from dealing with the aftermath of the Bristol Middleway incident. Half of the deaths were innocent bystanders.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•I totally missed the point when PeerTube got so goodEnglish
3512·6 months agoYou asked ChatGPT and thought it gave you a correct answer…? 🤣
For real though, Peertube is awesome now. Live streaming works a treat, so many plugins and add ons that make it great. Not to mention it now has its own app which is great.

News@lemmy.world•Law firms who bowed to Trump are paying a steep price
2·7 months agoPlease forgive my potential whoosh, but I’m kinda out of the loop and also not American- what deals are these firms cutting with The Whitehouse? I can’t really gauge exactly what they are from the article. Can some kind person ELI5 for me?

Sim Rally & Racing@lemmy.world•Damn shame, but also unsurprising.
1·7 months agoHonestly, I was never that inspired with Nacon and Kylotonn’s efforts. They all just felt a bit soulless and bland to me- they didn’t inspire the intensity and immersion that Codemasters manage to put in their games.

Sim Rally & Racing@lemmy.world•BeamNG.Drive never, ever fails to disappoint.
2·8 months agoI’m in the middle of making some rally videos for it- I tried one of the maps once and was blown away- I haven’t played any more as I want to save my reactions for more videos, I think it’ll be fun to do!

Sim Rally & Racing@lemmy.world•BeamNG.Drive never, ever fails to disappoint.
1·8 months agoI’ve heard of this! I keep telling myself I’ll set aside some time to try and replicate some Group B cars to put into it. I know there’s a few mod packs that do that currently but they just don’t drive well at all :/

Sim Rally & Racing@lemmy.world•What's your current sim racing game?
1·9 months agoHell yeah! Plenty of AI race mods that add races to existing courses/stages on the maps, not to mention THE NEW RALLY UPDATE (many excite) that they just added with full working pace notes, proper stages and cars is absolutely epic

Honestly, I absolutely love it.
I’m not overstating here, but I really think it is going to be the new gold standard for rally sim- even over RBR.
If you’re interested, I didn’t alive stream of it here https://video.gamerstavern.online/w/wrfnBuS7yVSJZ7fJ616cTq
There’s unfortunately a bit of stuttering due to me being a total noob and having my streaming resolution/nitrate mixed up :/
Anyway- very much worth the 20 quid you pay for it. Needs a little setup to get your bindings set up and FFB how you want it, but don’t they all?
