kcuf@lemmy.worldto You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK - Prune juice helps with constipation, but don't drink too much of it2·15 days agoIdk I figured the cider was a plum apricot mix, not just from pluots, or that pluots acted like plums do… I only had beer that night, but the bride almost lost bowel control during the reception and the bathrooms were destroyed and backed up
kcuf@lemmy.worldto You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK - Prune juice helps with constipation, but don't drink too much of it5·15 days agoA friend got a keg of pluot (spelling? Plum+apricot) cider for a wedding, that did not go well. I guess it tasted good, but there were not enough toilets…

kcuf@lemmy.worldto Buy European@feddit.uk•Aviation shake-up: Airbus surges ahead of Boeing2·25 days agoThe a220 is really nice to ride in (though weird size with air Canada running them in a 2-3 layout). The engines are apparently a nightmare, but last I heard we’re now seeing similar issues with pw’s non-geared engines too, so everything is fucked.
kcuf@lemmy.worldto Global News@lemmy.zip•The Plane That Crashed Yesterday Was the Same One a Dead Boeing Whistleblower Warned About6·29 days agoThe 777 had the fuel intake from the tanks freeze over on approach to Heathrow. I don’t think that was an obvious problem: the intake was a flat hexagonal structure of smaller inlets that allowed the ice to form over. The fix was to stagger the smaller inlets so ice couldn’t form.

Idk I guess it depends on who they is. I have family members that I believe still think rationally but that think this is a huge issue, and as far as I can tell it’s because they’re getting mislead on the percentages of cases where straight kids are getting abused and the severity – propaganda is very powerful.
I’m sure you could find examples. There are plenty of cases of mentally ill parents forcing their kids to act like another gender throughout history, I would be surprised if we never had such a parent go further and forcibly medicate their children as well – we have examples of parents medicating their kids to keep them sick for attention, this isn’t that much different.
With that said, I would assume this is very rare, but definitely not impossible.
I mean you very much can force your kids into certain roles and behaviors. That is not forcing them to actually be gay or trans, but to live like they are, and is child abuse – i assume this is more rare but idk. How you objectively distinguish between helping/supporting and forcing the kids is beyond me though, I couldn’t write a law to capture that.
I think your comment is interesting though because I saw the meme and never thought they were saying anything forcing kids to be gay/trans, but being forced to act like or believe they were because that’s what their parents wanted.
kcuf@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What HATED or highly disliked movie you ACTUALLY really enjoyed?1·6 months agoMaybe, it’s got a 6.5 on IMDb, and I remember people complaining about it being a bad scifi, but maybe that was just a small group, idk
kcuf@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What HATED or highly disliked movie you ACTUALLY really enjoyed?10·6 months agoI like Ad Astra. People hate it because they view it as a shitty scifi with lots of plot holes, but I view it from the perspective of brad pitt is actually in therapy in hypnosis or whatever to address the issues he has with his father, and the movie is really the journey through his mind and all the roadblocks and barriers he’s built up internally. Then the plot holes seem reasonable and less relevant.
kcuf@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If God is all powerful and created human. How come God in endowed with human emotions? Shouldn't he or she be beyond that?2·7 months agoMost importantly is to ask why is he subject to time? Our only concept of existing or being alive is tied to time: thought is a change of state, and change is defined by a progression of time. But if God is everything, why is he subject to time? What’s “outside” time?

Though maybe they could just do the censor step in the app, idk
Oh. Nothing related to cancer risk, got it
