Oculus at the Singapore astronomy museum
Close but not quite; it’s at the Shanghai Astronomy Museum
It’s the Shanghai Astronomy Museum
See https://feddit.org/post/22905017/10444917 for a picture of the room

It’s a real photograph, made in the Shanghai Astronomy Museum.
The picture in the post is the only one I made, but I found this one online that shows the whole room:

It’s the Shanghai Natural History Museum
It’s from the same location as the picture from this post: https://feddit.org/post/19513120 from the Singapore Cloud Forest, which is quite photogenic, in particular if you go there in the night.
So to answer the question: It’s a little water pond in a botanical greenhouse
Not sure, it’s from either the “Cloud Forest” or “Flower Dome” in Singapore (don’t remember), in the evening.
Believe it or not, it is a real picture, taken with my old Huawei phone
Well, there was https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tre_Kronor_(castle)#The_fire , so kind of yes
Well, kind of; it’s like a little body water arranged with plants around it, and some form of fog

Orchids@mander.xyz•After all.... why shouldn't I name an orchid genus after myself?English
2·3 months agoYes, it’s clearly a mistake. Bulbophyllum and Dendrobium are the two largest orchid genera, and they are both sister taxa.
It’s funny to see such a blatant and funny typo on a recently-built sign in Singapore. Did someone do it on purpose?
Nice! But those leaves look suspiciously thin for a Bc. Yellow Bird. I’d expect leaves shaped like those of Brassavola nodosa. Maybe the leaves in the foreground are from a different pot?

Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•I found a feather from a green bird [OC]
3·4 months agoIt’s likely from a Rose-ringed parakeet, there are many here.

Amazing, that this is a cactus. Does it even have spines? I knew that some basal cacti have leaves, but I thought they all have spines at last.
