  • I watched a documentary about swapped twins in Colombia The Accidental Twins.

2 sets of identical twins born in 1988, one pair in rural La Paz and one pair in Bogota. One of the La Paz babies wasn’t well and was sent to a hospital in the capital, where the mistake happened.

They grow up as fraternal twins, because they are not very much alike. 20+ years later they somehow run into each other through friends.
Imagine someone tells you “Hey, I met this guy who looks exactly like you” and you check out this guys social media and there are pictures of the guy, looking like you with another guy that looks exactly like your twin brother.

Seriously, such a wild story. Super interesting and heartbreaking at times.

This exactly. If you really want to stay anonymous then use a middleman and do it anonymous to the recipient as well.

Everyone involved with the institution, students, parents who pay tuition, teachers, authorities who financially support the institution (…) have a right to know in whose pocket they are.

  • I often see people post about things like that in my neighbourhood network.

Ask around in your neighborhood and on next door or a similar online community. Especially in cities there are lots of people around who love dogs, but can’t have one of their own. Some of them might be happy to spend some time with your dog during the day.

I actually did that for a while with a neighboring cat. Instead of hanging at home, I would just hang at their palce for a couple of hours in the afternoon to keep the cat company. This wasn’t pet sitting, just spending quality time with a pet that would otherwise be alone for the whole day.
