Yup! You can switch the throwing arm in BTD6 to curve it the opposite way.

On one hand I’m glad they didn’t go with the overdone cutesy Disney style for the animals, but yeah Fox especially looks off in the kinda realistic style. He looks more like Fantastic Mr. Fox now.

Alright here’s what you’re gonna do. You’ll take that tack shooter and put it in the top right corner, and instead replace it with a boomerang monkey and switch its throwing arm. Set its target to the farthest bloon. It’ll keep shooting in the top right corner and take out the whole curve. You’ll want to upgrade it to ricochet in the future.
I played this game too much. Help.

9·6 days agoI remember playing this game ~10(?) years ago, it’s really surprising that it’s still getting updated. One of the better survival games despite being free.

Games@lemmy.world•What game has the weirdest/nicest/meanest fandom?English
511·8 days agoUndertale’s fandom makes 10x more sense when you realize it started off with the same people from the Homestuck fandom (Toby fox used to do Homestuck stuff before Undertale).
Deep Rock Galactic has a great fandom since everything about the game is about cooperating with others. Risk of Rain’s fandom is also pretty chill.
Every fandom that gets popular enough will eventually become kinda toxic and have gatekeepers and people who take the game way too seriously. I wouldn’t put too much stock into fanbases unless it’s a multiplayer only game.

RetroGaming@lemmy.world•What are your recommendations for titles that run on low spec emulation handhelds and have a modern feel?English
6·8 days ago-
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
-
Mother 3 (English patch)
-
Chrono Trigger
-
Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga
-
Colin Mcrae Rally 2
-
Final Fantasy VI (or Final Fantasy III in the US)
-
Apotris (this one is a Tetris homebrew that looks and runs great)
These all feel very modern for their time, and don’t come with the hassle of being overly vague or forcing you to grind.

Games@lemmy.world•Garry's Mod Creator Wants to Push 'AI Slop' Off the S&box Main Page Amid 'Mixed' Steam User Review RatingEnglish
15·12 days agoI bought and played the game a couple of hours. It has a ton of potential, but yeah, I ended up giving it a downvote on Steam. The AI slop isn’t as big of an issue as the rest honestly, the game has terrible performance even on lowest settings and connecting to servers often fails. There’s also a lack of good games which is a little expected since it’s relatively new but still disappointing, because there really isn’t that much you can play.

Gaming@lemmy.world•When you finally play a game beloved by most gamers, but you don't enjoy it at allEnglish
4·12 days agoI don’t think anyone likes Binding of Isaac at first glance. It has a disgusting theme, it’s slow paced, the combat is a bit awkward at the start, and you won’t understand anything at first…
But it’s an acquired taste. I stuck with it and watched a few videos that explain how it works, and it’s a very rewarding game. Ended up playing 400+ hours.

12·13 days agoI hope this takes off, there hasn’t been much buzz around it. I tried the dev preview which seemed pretty good, and I like that games can’t have any microtransactions and are instead paid by playtime.
Downloading it now, hopefully it’s good because Gmod is one of my most played games ever.

Soulslike - Discussion, News, Memes@lemmy.zip•[Discussion] Which Soulslike's game world could you see yourself living in?English
5·13 days agoDemon’s Souls seems the least bad for me, I wouldn’t mind living in the nexus with other people waiting for someone to get rid of The Old One. It’s implied that everything goes back to normal after the ending compared to Dark Souls’ “everyone dies” endings.

Video Game Suggestions@lemmy.zip•[Request] Something With "Depth"English
5·14 days agoIf you’re looking for depth, Hytale probably isn’t for you yet. The game is still early in development, what exists is awesome but it doesn’t have that much content or depth yet. I’d compare it to Minecraft before the end update.
Vintage Story can get pretty deep, but be aware it’s a lot slower and more hardcore than the other two. A lot of your time will be spent just trying to stay alive. Staying warm, getting food, farming, spending a long time crafting things like pots out of clay… You don’t even get to mine until the mid-game, and finding copper can be a real hassle. Honestly it might be what you’re looking for if you’re into survival games. That said, I wouldn’t say it has a TON of content, it’s more that everything takes so much time to make that you’ll spend ages finishing what’s here.
In terms of raw content and depth there isn’t any block game that can match the depth and content of Minecraft with tons of mods, I think.

Games@lemmy.world•Are there any level-based city building games?English
8·14 days agoIt takes some getting used to, you can play the easy difficulties until you wrap your head around the mechanics. Once I got past the difficulty curve though I found it very fun.

Games@lemmy.world•Are there any level-based city building games?English
74·14 days agoAgainst the storm sounds like a perfect fit. It’s in a fantasy setting though, so it’s quite different from Cities Skylines.
The idea is that you build a village, collect resources, and try to survive until you complete objectives. Once you’re done, you earn some permanent progression and move on to the next area to build. Each zone has its own challenges and randomly generated resources.

Video Game Suggestions@lemmy.zip•Looking for a game that's really just a backdrop to bullshit with friendsEnglish
7·15 days agoSeconding the ‘friendslop’ recommendations, all of those games are relatively cheap and fun to mess around with friends. REPO was a big hit in my group even if it doesn’t have that much content.
You might be able to get away with playing FF7 Remake without knowing much about the original, but the ending and the one after it (FF7 Rebirth) pretty much demands you understand the story of the old games.

513·16 days agoFWIW according to an insider, this is a bug. People have been saying this menu is for PS+ games that expire when your subscription runs out.
Incredibly stupid that Sony isn’t responding about this at all though.

I heard of this game a few years ago but it’s really cool, feels like one of those early gaming experiments that no major company will ever try today.
