No love for acid rain?

We’ve updated this article after realising we contributed to a perfect storm of misunderstanding around a recent change in the wording and placement of Gmail’s smart features. The settings themselves aren’t new, but the way Google recently rewrote and surfaced them led a lot of people (including us) to believe Gmail content might be used to train Google’s AI models, and that users were being opted in automatically. After taking a closer look at Google’s documentation and reviewing other reporting, that doesn’t appear to be the case.

I find that my players take a lot of cues from the scenario. If there’s an obvious way for them to get involved, and a clear benefit to the character, they jump in. If not, they treat it as part of the world and continue about their business. But they are relatively passive, story-wise and expect a bit of railroading to tell them where to go.

I did this for my Waterdeep: Dragonheist campaign. The paper was yellow journalism through and through: they misspelled PC names, misattributed actions, and obviously supported one of the factions. It was a lot of fun. I fully recommend it.

I do something similar a couple days a week. It looks just as good as a similar cut I’d get from a barber.

Will it be bad? Yes.

Will I watch it? Probably not.

Norton proclaimed himself “Emperor of these United States” in September 1859, a role he played for the rest of his life. Norton had no formal political power but was treated deferentially in San Francisco and elsewhere in California, and currency issued in his name was honored in some of the establishments he frequented. Used for what?

I held my parents hands when we were in crowded places. Until I accidentally grabbed some random woman’s hand and felt really awkward. I probably stopped around age 7.

I love holding my kids hands. They’re big enough that I don’t think I’ll get to hold my elder son’s hand again, and I might get to hold my little guy’s hand a few more times. Here’s hoping.

I have to roll in the open, otherwise I’m tempted to lie about the rolls to benefit the players. I don’t want to, it just happens.

You can never have enough doves

It’s a preview, so that doesn’t seem too surprising. Like the post says, you can switch back to the regular client pretty easily.

We’re not monolithic. No generation is. Those movies were kinda popular, but they found their success with a subset of the generation, not the entire group.

Just like every other generation, when we’re relatively comfortable (or exhausted from daily survival), we don’t have time to foment revolution.

Eh. I’d put it at $20. It’s a fun novelty, but it’s not something most people would get much value from. Okay, me. It’s not something I’d get much value from.

I’ve only played rogue once, but they seem to have a niche as being sneakier than the rest of the party. They pile levels into detecting traps, sneaking, and getting those sweet backstabs (or whatever the class feature is called).

You’re right that adventurers often steal liberate, but rogues in D&D have a bit more than that going on.
