I wish Linux would quit hiding things that don’t need to be hidden. For example, your Steam directory should not be hidden, but it usually is. Hidden directories should be reserved only for things that can fuck up your system if you modify them.

You really don’t need to use the terminal if you don’t want to. The only reason so many people use it is because it’s usually the most efficient way to get stuff done, and it’s easier to show a terminal command than it is to show how to do something on each and every desktop since they all vary slightly.

When it comes to installing apps, Linux is actually not that different from how you install them on your phone. Most distros will have some kind of software center that you can use to install apps. Check here first before searching online. Most apps are NOT downloaded using your web browser.

Stick with a distro that’s been around forever. Newer distros have a lot of buzz, but they lack support and you’ll eventually come across a problem that you won’t know how to solve.

I keep telling people but if they keep using ad blockers, then they can expect less content to be available for free. Yet they all want to act like they’re not responsible for this trend even though they are.

I remember Google saying like 2 decades ago that it was actually their goal to get you off of their website as quickly as possible. If you clicked on a link, and then clicked back in less than 30 seconds, then Google would consider that search result to be not what you were looking for.

They banned the infamous turtle mod. Not because he was a horrible and abusive mod, but because he protested Reddit’s API changes that killed third party apps. It just sends the message that as long as you align with the company, then you can abuse their users all you want.

DeArrow has a bad habit of renaming videos that don’t need to be renamed. For example, ‘History of the Entire World I Guess’ was renamed to ‘History of the World.’ Ain’t nobody clicking on that.

The biggest problem with those two movies is that the pacing was awful. You had exhausting fight and chase scenes followed by scenes that had way too much mumbo jumbo dialogue. Every scene could have been made shorter without losing any plot points.

And a lot less people posting “what’s something that used to be cool, but isn’t now?” posts every single day. It’s gotten to the point where I can usually guess what the top answer will be.

I can totally see it happening because these companies are so dead set on cutting costs that they’re not seeing the bigger picture.
