It reminded me that if you browsed Reddit from Spain many of the ads were literal scams, like the typical fake photo of a celebrity or even the Spanish king recommending you to invest in a very fishy crypto platform.

Spanish users were complaining and reporting these ads for months but last time I checked these ads were still running.

The conclusion is that Reddit didn’t even check who is running the ads and with what purpose as long as they pay them, and of course they don’t give a crap if their users get scammed.

In my country, one of the most successful supermarkets is run by a fascist and he uses part of his fortune to finance our local fascist party, which is gaining strength every year by the way. Do we support fascism by buying in that supermarket? What if we suddenly started to boycott the supermarket to hell?

My point is that they earn profits by using their services and in today’s society money is power. And from where the CEO got his power? From the millions of people with the mindset of “if it benefits me I don’t care”.

Of course that’s not possible, the issue here is being aware and not caring and in some cases supporting it for convenience and selfishness.

That’s the logic of as long as it benefits ME I don’t care and I support them no matter what they do. This same logic has been applied to all the shitty things done in history like slavery, war and so forth, and the reason the world is the way it is.

slrpnk.net doesn’t require an email, makes it optional in case you want it for password recovery. And as far as I know it doesn’t have the restrictions you mention.

Just in case you didn’t know this, here is a program that lets you mass edit and delete all your comments on Reddit:

The free version only edits all your comments with random words, but for me was good enough just to delete my main account asap.

Yes seems that it is true, Tuta then I think they support custom domains.

Posteo is cool as an alternative to Proton for mail, they are bunch of nice Germans going to the office on bike, you can’t go evil on that.

We may have to just accept that it won’t ever be a big platform for this very reason and just have fun there as a niche site.

Like the other person said, Wine is the way to go to run Windows specific software on Linux.

The cool thing about Linux is that you always find a guide for whatever problem you may have and also the community is huge and super nice to help you with any issue.

Also you can always have Linux + Windows with dual boot and try out things until you are comfortable to do the change, or just abandon Linux if it is not your cup of tea, but at least you have tried.

Come on! It’s good, it’s free, without ads nor legal corporate spywares, if you want to resurrect your 10 years old computer it will work, if you want gaming on your super PC it will work too, what else can you ask for?

There are already 8 billion humans, countries have destroyed 80-90% of their forests to put plantations to feed animals to feed ourselves and our children while we waste a big chunk of it. Not to talk about the tons of rubbish we create in the process and a pollution that may already doomed us.

And we want more and more. When will be enough? At 20 billion? Or do we make infinite children? Maybe actually stopping having children before it’s too late is the essential for the survival of our species.
