But the health insurance companies would still exist. Your country desperately needs public healthcare like the rest of the civilised world

News@lemmy.world•Erika Kirk endorses JD Vance for president in 2028
1·5 days agoSo they’ll pretend he’s alive up to 2 years and 1 day in, that way you can have 9 years 364 days of Vanced.
I think you’re forgetting that some (especially neurotypical) people have really basic senses of humour. The Dad probably thought no more than haha dolly looks like daughter, and op probably thought the same.

1·6 days agoI guess there also the big if of whether an overweight 79 year old with clear signs of dementia will be around when the next election happens.

News@lemmy.world•Erika Kirk endorses JD Vance for president in 2028
1·7 days agoBut it doesn’t say he can’t be elected as vice president, only he can’t be elected president. By being elected as VP he’s not being elected president.
You’ve just said it can’t happen, not explained what would actually stop it happening.

News@lemmy.world•Erika Kirk endorses JD Vance for president in 2028
11·7 days agoWhy wouldn’t he be eligible? The wording of your amendment specifically says “shall not be elected” clearly that means that becoming president by other means is fine, otherwise it would have said “may not serve as president” or just may not be president.
No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.

2·7 days agoCan you explain? I thought the amendment thing said he just can’t be elected president. Or does it say he can’t be elected vice president too?

News@lemmy.world•DOJ won’t meet Friday deadline to release all the Epstein files
3·9 days agoAhh ok, so it’s like the first step. How come last time there wasn’t the second step? Also on a related question, if he’d been kicked out last time would he have been able to run again this time?

News@lemmy.world•DOJ won’t meet Friday deadline to release all the Epstein files
8·9 days agoWhat’s the point of impeachment? Wasn’t trump already impeached a couple of times in the first term? He didn’t get kicked out or banned from running again
There’s just 5 lots of 2. If it’s hard then think of x being just a bunch of + smooshed together. So
2 + 2 x 4
expands to
2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2
or contracts to
5 x 2
One step at a time. We can roll back from the stupid super hard Brexit.
We had a whole bunch https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom_opt-outs_from_EU_legislation personally I’d be happy to go back in without them. Fuck boomer brexiters didn’t listen to how fucking good we had it

News@lemmy.world•BBC vows to defend itself in $10bn Donald Trump lawsuit
2·12 days agoI don’t think they have a choice. Where they’re not a commercial organisation they be seen to back down and settle out of court. The public and political backlash would be way to great.
Might have to give that a go.
So you’re going to down vote it.
Upvote 1 adds an up vote
Upvote 2 removes that up vote
Down vote 1 adds a down vote.
