Los Angeles@lemmy.world•Found elderly dog (crosspost from Inland Empire)
2·1 month agoI sadly can’t, the older of my two cats is terrified of dogs and it would stress her out something awful to have one in the house 😔
And I’m afraid that this old guy might be on his last legs. He really didn’t like me touching his butt and peed blood on me when I carried him out of the hills. If they do have to put him down, then at least I know he spent his time somewhere safe and warm rather than freezing out in this rain and getting eaten by coyotes.

4·1 month agoI’ve also posted him on lost pet sites and other social media, hoping to find his owners!
Especially their own separate tubs
It was fantastic! Kaytranada was new to me, and though not exactly my taste, still really fun music to groove along to

cats@lemmy.world•You would think she'd prefer the cube that's explicitly set up as a bed, but noooo
2·2 months agoNope, her name’s Sofrito (or Sofi for short).

16·2 months agoHah true that! Cardboard and packing paper are some of her favorite things to play with, and we’ll often let her tear boxes up a bit before recycling.

California@lemmy.world•Why plastic bags will be gone from California groceries by the end of the year
2·2 months agoFor the cat litter, I’ve started to save and use the plastic bags we get with our food anyways. Lots of things like frozen food, bread, chips, whatever, come in bags that can have a second use before being thrown away.

cats@lemmy.world•I'm gigantic and got the size of bed that fits me. Too bad I'm not psychic and didn't realize I'd be giving up a not insignificant portion to these two little shits.
49·3 months agoEveryone knows that cats are liquid, but I think they also exhibit gaseous properties, in that they are capable of expanding to fill any available space. No matter how large the bed, it will never be enough.
Nah that’s the mycelium being all fluffy.
Her name is Sofrito, and we also call her the Purrito Bandito. Previous nicknames while in kittenhood included noddlebones (she tended to flop when picked up), ragamuffin, and fetid moppet.
Truly a magnificent creature lording over her domain.
Well that’s sad, but understandable.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•why do our noses & anuses think different types of paper are softest?
1·1 year agoYou’re in luck, there is a best of Lemmy!
Oh dear, I just thought that they’d get leggy like basil, maybe I should pinch the flowers off…
Somehow, I can tolerate “jpheg” much easier than the forsaken “jif.”

That’s fair, I’m not sure if it’s just something I noticed recently and it’s hard to spot in pictures.

Mid November:
Even if it is new, I know pigment changes in young cats is normal. Probably just being an overly concerned cat mom ._.’
